Justin Verlander
Verlander will face the Rockies in Minute Maid Park. The Rockies typically hit in the worst park for strikeouts (Coors Field), but will travel to one of the best strikeout parks in the league. Verlander has an OTT of three (see pitcher chart), tied for the lowest on the slate. The Rockies add a DH in the matchup, but rank 27th in the league in wRC+. Verlander is a big favorite, and at $12,600 on DraftKings, he’s priced reasonably. I’m considering him for both cash games and tournaments.
Corey Kluber
Kluber will travel to the National League to take on the Reds in Great American Ballpark. This is also a great park for strikeouts and while the Reds are a solid offense, Kluber still has an OTT of three. He’s the biggest favorite on the slate and costs $1,100 less than Verlander. It will be difficult to choose between Verlander and Kluber for cash games. Hopefully umpire data, lineups, and weather can make the decision easier.
Alex Wood
Wood is making his first start back from the disabled list. Assuming he has a full pitch count (never a guarantee with the Dodgers), I like him for cash games. He’ll face the Giants in Dodger Stadium. He’s priced at $8,200 and consistently puts up double-digit DK point games. Also with an OTT of three, Wood should be able to keep the Giants off the board. If we get news we should worry about a pitch count, I may pivot away from Wood, but he threw a simulated game a few days ago with no issues. Jaime Barria would be a pivot to look into if you don’t want to risk Wood in his first game back.

Hitters
No time for a full write up on hitters, but here are my favorite bats tonight.
Diamondbacks against Yovani Gallardo – Goldschmidt, Pollock, Souza in play for cash games. Escobar, Peralta, Descalso, Ahmed in play for tournaments. Descalso and Ahmed depend on where they hit in the order.
Orioles against Jason Vargas – Righties and Chris Davis. Villar for cash games, the rest as a tournament stack. Davis is my favorite tournament play of the group, even over all of the righties considering his price.
Starling Marte against Jake Odorizzi – Odorizzi is a reverse-splits pitcher, so that helps Marte. It’s also a great stolen base matchup for Marte. He’s one of my favorites to pay up for in both cash games and tournaments.
