MLB DFS Pitcher Chart & Lineup Advice – 5/15/2017

Last Updated: 5/15/2017 – 7:01 AM CT

The pitcher chart is located under my top plays!

Top Plays

Carlos Carrasco/Chris Archer

If you’re playing the main slate, the top two pitchers will not be included. If you want to, you can play the all day slate on DraftKings which starts an hour early. Pitching on Monday is ugly, but playing the all day slate will allow you to play one or both of Carlos Carrasco and Chris Archer. I prefer Carrasco to Archer simply because the Rays strike out at the highest percentage in the major leagues, but wouldn’t be against pairing the two.

Brandon McCarthy

McCarthy will pitch in AT&T Park against the Giants. The Giants have the worst wRC+ against righties in the entire major leagues, and the AT&T Park is a pitchers park. Yasmani Grandal should be catching which is always a plus for Dodgers pitchers because Grandal is an exceptional pitch framer. There isn’t a line for this game yet, but I’m assuming McCarthy will hold one of the lowest OTTs on the day.

Luis Perdomo

Perdomo is a better pitcher than he gets credit for, and the Brewers take a big park hit traveling to Petco Park. The Brewers just finished a home stand where they scored 48 runs on 72 hits in six games. They are hot right now, so this is more of a GPP/SP2 play, although the Brewers still strike out 24.3% of the time against righties. The Brewers are already without Ryan Braun and could be without Travis Shaw, who hurt his hand in Sunday’s game. Eric Thames has complained of tired legs, so I wouldn’t be shocked to see him sit as well. This could be a “wait and see the lineups” type of day, but if the Brewers roll out a watered down lineup, I’m going to love Perdomo tomorrow.

Mike Trout

Trout is the top overall option today facing Mike Pelfrey who has a 2.84 K/9 on the year. Pelfrey is likely the worst pitcher on the slate, and Trout is the best hitter in the game. Trout will be the first player in my lineups in both cash games and tournaments.

Freddie Freeman

Freeman and the Braves will take on Mike Bolsinger in the Rogers Center. This is a great park for hitting, Freeman is a top-three hitter in the game, and Bolsinger isn’t a great pitcher. Freeman will have the platoon advantage and the Braves will replace their pitcher with a DH, making it easier to turn over the lineup. My strategy today is to lock in Trout and Freeman and fill in pitchers around them.

Mets Lefties

It seems like every time I stack against Zach Godley, it doesn’t work out well, but I’m going to try one more time today. The Mets get a park upgrade as they travel to Chase Field. Godley is pitching over his head right now, and I think regression will start today. Jay Bruce, Michael Conforto, Neil Walker, Asdrubal Cabrera (if healthy), and Lucas Duda are all in play in cash games and make for a fantastic tournament stack.

Notes

Jesse Chavez projects very well today as the White Sox take a park hit traveling to Angel Stadium.

The pitching chart will be updated often. Make sure to check back for the newest information, especially if a column is currently incomplete!
