MLB DFS Pitcher Chart & Lineup Advice – 7/29/2017

Last Updated: 7/29/2017 – 8:21 AM CT

The pitcher chart is located under my top plays!

Top Plays

Corey Kluber

Kluber is the top overall option on Saturday, and is a must play in cash games on the main slate. He costs $14,000, but there aren’t any other pitchers I want to pay up for.  Kluber has a 35.5% strikeout percentage this season and faces the White Sox who have the 10th highest strikeout percentage and rank just 27th in wRC+ against righties. Kluber is the biggest favorite on the day and has the lowest OTT (see pitcher chart). The price tag might lead me to fade Kluber in tournaments, but in cash games, he seems like a lock.

Kyle Hendricks

Hendricks is priced at just $7,300 on DraftKings. He’s making his second start since coming off the DL, but he threw 92 pitches in his first start back, so I’m expecting a full workload for Hendricks. He has the second lowest OTT on the main slate and the Brewers strike out at the second highest rate in the league against righties. Hendricks rarely throws 100 pitches, but if he can get through six innings, he has a great chance to reach value. I like Hendricks as an SP2 in both cash games and tournaments.

Chris Davis/Manny Machado/Orioles

The Orioles will face Austin Bibens-Dirkx in Globe Life Park. They have a team run total of six, making them the top offense on the slate. Davis is the top hitter on the slate has the highest home run projection. I’m locking him in as my first baseman. Machado isn’t a lock at third base, simply because I like Freddie Freeman as well, but I’m locking in either Machado or Freeman into my cash game lineups for about the same price. Adam Jones and Mark Trumbo make fantastic plays in the outfield, and are both in my current cash game lineup.

Freddie Freeman/Matt Kemp/Braves

Freeman was a bit disappointing yesterday, scoring just three DK points, but he’s in a great spot again facing Jerad Eickhoff. He’ll have the platoon advantage and has the highest home run projection among third basemen today. I’m leaning toward playing Machado in cash games, but will have plenty of Freeman in tournaments. Kemp left yesterday’s game with a hamstring injury, but if he’s in the lineup again today, he’s a solid option once again. I have a hard time passing on a hitter as talented as Kemp for only $3,700, even if he’s been cold. To fit all the Orioles, I’ll need a few punts, and one punt I’m considering is Sean Rodriguez at second base. He costs just $2,300 and opens up a ton of salary. I don’t love any second base plays today, so it’s a perfect place to punt.

Notes

If you’re playing the all-day slate, Rich Hill or Jacob deGrom are quality pivots from Kluber and much cheaper.

If Jorge Polanco is in the lineup, he’s another great punt at shortstop for just $2,100.

If he continues to bat 4th, Hector Sanchez is an absolute lock at catcher in cash games.

The pitching chart will be updated often. Make sure to check back for the newest information, especially if a column is currently incomplete!
