DFS MLB FanDuel Cash Lineup Advice 06/13/2017

Welcome to the Tuesday edition of the MLB Fanduel Cash Game Article. Tonight he have an excellent 14 game slate. As always, please make sure you check the weather and the team lineups as they are released. Let’s go ahead and take a look at my favorite cash game options for tonight on FanDuel.

Pitcher

David Price BOS: $9,300 vs. PHI
David Price was really roughed up in his last start against the Yankees, but his matchup tonight is much better. The Phillies rank 23rd in wRC+ and 18th in wOBA against left-handed pitchers this season. I’m confident that he will bounce back tonight and I would rather save the $3,200 from Clayton Kershaw, who has a difficult matchup at Cleveland tonight.

Clayton Kershaw LAD $12,500 @ CLE
As I stated above, I would rather take the savings and use Price. However, if you have to use Kershaw then I can get behind that. Kershaw is the best pitcher in all of baseball and Indians actually haven’t been that great against left-handed pitchers this season. The Indians currently rank 22nd in wRC+ and 21st in wOBA against lefties in 2017.

Catcher

Related Articles

Welington Castillo  $2,800  @ CHW
Derek Holland has been decent this season, but he has really struggled against right-handed hitters this season allowing a 0.381 wOBA and a 2.26 HR/9. Welington Castillo has crushed left-handed pitching throughout his career, with a 0.361 wOBA and a 0.193 ISO.

Brian McCann HOU $3,600 vs. TEX
If you decide to spend up a little bit at catcher, consider using Brian McCann. McCann is swinging a hot stick with nine hits, including three home runs, in his last six starts. Tonight he has an excellent matchup against Nick Martinez, who has really struggled against left-handed hitters this season.

First Base

Matt Carpenter STL: $3,300 vs. MIL
Matt Carpenter is heating back up with seven hits, including two home runs, in his past five games. He should be able to keep that hot streak going tonight against Jimmy Nelson. Nelson has been decent against lefties this season, but he has allowed a lot of hard contact against this season. Eventually that hard contact will catch up with him.

Ryan Zimmerman WAS: $4,000 vs. ATL
I’m a fan of BvP, especially against knuckleball pitchers since it is such a unique pitch. Ryan Zimmerman has been excellent against R.A. Dickey over the course of his career with 12 hits in 36 at-bats, including two home runs and two doubles.

Second Base

Robinson Cano SEA: $3,100 @ MIN
Robinson Cano is just too cheap to ignore given the matchup. Cano absolutely crushes right-handed pitchers. On the other hand, Kyle Gibson really struggles against lefties, allowing a 0.390 wOBA and a 40.2% hard contact rate this season.

Jose Pirela SD: $2,500 vs. CIN
Jose Pirela was called up by the Padres a couple of weeks ago and has hit in the leadoff spot in each of the past five games. In those five games, Pirela has 10 hits, including two home runs and three doubles.

Third Base

Kyle Seager SEA $3,300 @ MIN
Another Mariners’ hitter who we can use tonight is Kyle Seager. Seager is another player who is heating up, with 10 hits over his last seven games.

Manny Machado BAL: $3,800 @ CHW
Another Orioles’ hitter who we can use tonight is Manny Machado. Machado does not have a high average against left-handed pitchers, but he does have a 0.265 ISO and a 51.8% hard contact rate against opposing south paws.

Shortstop

Corey Seager LAD: $3,800 @ CLE
Trevor Bauer really struggles against left-handed hitters, and the Dodgers have plenty of solid lefty hitters to choose from. One of those lefties is the reigning NL rookie of the year, Corey Seager. Seager currently has a 0.372 wOBA and a 0.188 ISO against opposing right-handed pitchers this season.

Zack Cozart CIN: $3,600 @ SD
Zack Cozart has been outstanding this season and has crushed left-handed pitching with a ridiculous 0.470 wOBA and a 0.279 ISO this season. On the other hand, Clayton Richard has struggled against opposing right-handed hitters in 2017.

Outfielders

Andrew Benintendi BOS $2,800/ Mookie Betts BOS $3,700  vs. PHI
I’m still not quite sure why FanDuel refuses to raise Andrew Benintendi’s salary to at least $3,000. Benindtendi was incredibly popular last night in cash games and he hit another home run. He’s going to be extremely chalky again tonight at this salary and in my mind he is a must play for cash game contests. His teammate, Mookie Betts is also in play tonight against Ben Lively.

Nelson Cruz SEA: $4,400 @ MIN
I prefer to use Nelson Cruz when he is facing a lefty, but Kyle Gibson is equally as bad against righties and lefties. The Mariners put up 14 runs last night against the Twins and I think they could just as easily light up the scoreboard tonight as well.

Dexter Fowler STL: $3,000 vs. MIL
Another Cardinals’ lefty who we can use tonight against Nelson is Dexter Fowler. Fowler currently has a 0.345 wOBA and a 0.243 ISO against right-handed pitchers this season.
