DFS NBA DraftKings Lineup Advice 1/25/19
I consider myself the clown prince of DraftKings Prognosticators. There are many who are statistically more sound, and many better players, but few who are as funny, in my humble opinion. At the end of the day though, it’s all about how well you make the picks. In that vain from time to time, I owe you a look back on some of my picks. For example, on the 1/23/19 slate, I considered John Collins a Top Play. Hit the nail on the head on that one as John Collins had 53 Fantasy Points at 7900 DK. I also choose Kyrie Irving as a top play, but alas he missed the game with injury, now on to the picks…
Top Plays
Nikola Jokic (10,600 DK) versus Phoenix
Coming off a tough loss to the Jazz, the Nuggets are pissed. If he does not get suspended for this one due to a scuffle against said Jazz, Nikola Jokic is slated to go against the defense of the immortal Dragan Bender. I don’t care if he only plays 25 minutes, Nikola Jokic is coming off nearly 70 fantasy points against the tough D of Rudy Gobert, do you think he will be at all phased by Dragan Bender? I think not, this is a great spot for the Joker.
D’Angelo Russell (8600 DK) versus New York
It goes without saying that James Harden is the top play on this slate. Click and don’t even think about it. If you follow basketball at all you will recall James Harden dropped 61 points on the Knicks the other night. While D’Angelo Russell will not drop 61 points on the Knicks, he is in a great spot against a terrible Knicks Defense and figures to have a huge game.
Value Plays
Allonzo Trier (4700 DK) @ Brooklyn
I swear I’m not chasing Trier’s 31 point/51 fantasy point performance against the Rockets. The game before he put up 37.5 fantasy points against the Thunder. This pick is predicated on Emmanuel Mudiay being out, but if he is, Trier a great play with high usage and lots of value.
Kelly Oubre Jr. (5600 DK) @ Denver
This pick is not going to win you a GPP, but is a solid pick with all the Suns injury issues. T.J. Warren, Richaun Holmes, DeAndre Ayton, Tom Chambers, Mark West (just kidding on the last two, they are long retired) are all out. Oubre should be good for between 30-35 fantasy points in this spot, and should be a good supplemental piece to your lineup.
Neva Plays

Buddy Hield (6800 DK) @ Memphis
Buddy Hield is a great scorer, but the auxiliary parts of his game leave something to be desired. Memphis is really tough defensive team and if his recent form is any indication, there is a strong chance Buddy will not reach value here, stay far away.
Kemba Walker (8100 DK) @ Milwaukee
If it seems like I tend to pick on Kemba here, your right, that’s not my intent though. I think he is a great scorer and an exciting player. I also think he struggles on the road (see shooting percentage in the low 40’s) and that Milwaukee and Eric Bledsoe is a really tough matchup for him. Do what you want, but I will be staying away.
