DFS NBA DraftKings Lineup Advice 12/30/20
Wednesday features a 6 game slate in the NBA with a number of interesting plays for us to build around. For me, 6 games fall right into the sweet spot of slates that I love. On these mid-sized slates, I find myself looking toward the high-usage bench players as the primary value plays that allow me to target top-tier options in pace-up spots. This is going to be one where I’m expecting a good bit of news to break throughout the day as 4 of the teams going today are on back-to-backs so make sure to keep an eye out for late-breaking value and adjust your lineup accordingly.
GUARDS

I love what Trae Young has been doing this year and on this slate, he sets up as an interesting leverage play off of Luka. Atlanta has been letting Trae cook in this young season with a 36.1 usage rate, good for 3rd in the Association. Young is doing it all this year, but where he’s seen the biggest leap is in how aggressive he has become going to the hoop. Driving to the basket has resulted in Young seeing a league-best 14 FT attempts per game and has his scoring average well north of 30. With this game carrying a slate-high 241 total, expect Trae to the focal point of this Hawks offense and to cruise to solid value tonight.
Payton Pritchard – Boston Celtics | PG – $3,400
This might be my favorite punt plays out there tonight. Pritchard has seen his minutes increase over the past couple of games and with Kemba out (and BOS potentially resting players on a back-to-back) he stands to see his increased usage continue against the Grizzlies. FastPP has done a great job of stuffing the stat sheet this season and against this decimated Memphis team there are a number of scenarios in this game where Boston is up big and Prichard holds court in garbage time.
FORWARDS

This one looks like a crazy soft spot in DK pricing at $6,900. It will be hard to find a better point/dollar play on the entire slate which makes him the center-piece of my cash game builds. If DeRozen simply gets to his average of 44.6 DK pts/game, he’ll be at a juicy 6.4x return. This game in general is one of my favorite pace plays on the entire slate and the Lakers are favorable to forwards who rebound and distribute the ball; giving DeMar a good look at a double-double tonight. The value DeRozen presents tonight is simply undeniable.
Kevin Durant – Brooklyn Nets | SF/PF – $8,400

After seeing a $1,000 decrease, KD is maybe the safest play in his price range and I love him in Cash tonight. He is averaging about 42 DK pts/game on the year and has a ton of upside when you look at how he’s scoring those points. He is currently well below his career average for rebounding and has yet to attempt 20 shots in a game this season. Dinwiddie’s absence and a 241 total set up nicely for a scoring gap that KD can easily fill to get him back to a 50+ point outing this evening.

I love me some Kyle Anderson tonight! Slow-Mo is already an efficiency BEAST and heads into this matchup with 4 players already ruled out. He is the type of do-it-all player that I love in cash games and was already on an upward trend for the last few games. Now that basically everyone is out in Memphis, I expect Anderson to see 35+ minutes tonight and to absolutely stuff the stat sheet being on the floor that much; making 6x+ return closer to his floor than his ceiling.
CENTER

We’ve seen another price decrease on AD, to the point where I think we have to start waking up to our exposure to him. This game profiles to a shootout with a 233 total and both teams falling into the top half of the league in pace and the Spurs are the 3rd most favorable matchup to the PF position in the league. Playing Davis at center is an interesting way to get unique with your build and Lebron’s questionable tag gives him the scoring upside that we’ve grown to love from AD.
Willie-Cauley Stein – Dallas Mavericks | C – $3,300
This one doesn’t jump off the page at first glance, but after a closer look – I think there’s some value here. WCS is certainly no more than a punt play on this slate, but he does have a few things working in his favor. Charlotte is already the 7th most favorable matchup to the center position with Zeller getting injured in the opener and they are allowing the highest total of rebounds in the league; one of the categories where WCS is fairly consistent. Dallas comes into this game as 11.5 pt favorites and if a blowout leads Willie to around 20 minutes tonight, he should easily be in the 6x range and is just a couple more makes away from a double-double.
