DFS NBA DraftKings Lineup Advice 7/31/2020
DFS NBA DraftKings Lineup DATE
We had our first taste of NBA action on Thursday. Now we get our first “real” slate of NBA games to build so good lineups. It’s still really tough to know what exactly is going to happen in these games and how closely it will resemble the “pre-shutdown” trends, but I’m just happy to have sports back. Before we jump in, let me plug this again:

NBA DFS Legend
Nothing But Net | My top plays of the night at his position. |
Dunk | A Dunk is a second or third tier player with the highest upside. |
Half-Court Shot | Otherwise known as a “punt play.” A Low-priced, high-upside player. |
Blocked Shot | A player I’ll be avoiding. Otherwise known as “Fading.” |
**Main Slate
Guards
Nothing But Net | Luka Doncic (DAL) $10,500 vs. HOU
Before the shutdown, the Rockets played at the fourth-highest pace in the league, compared to the Mavs at 18th. This is a pace-up game for Doncic and he has similar upside to James Harden, but with a $500 discount.
Dunk | Caris LeVert (BKN) $7,800 vs. ORL
LeVert is underpriced and there is no doubt he will be one of the higher owned players on the slate, but with good reason. LeVert, over his last eight games before the shutdown, had three 60-plus DK points games and scored 51 NBA points in one of those.
Half-Court Shot | Ish Smith (WAS) $4,000 vs. PHO
Smith and Napier are expected to split time at the point evenly in this restart, so either one of them could be valuable, but I will take my chances on the cheaper of the two. I also think that it’ll be Smith, not Napier, that would get “junk time” minutes in a blowout scenario, which I fully expect with the shorthanded Wizards.
Blocked Shot | Kemba Walker (BOS) $7,100 @ MIL
This is an easy fade for me as he will likely play limited minutes coming off his knee injury.

Others I Like
- Shabazz Napier $5,700
- George Hill $3,800
Forwards
Nothing But Net | Giannis Antetokounmpo (MIL) $10,500 vs. BOS
Usually, a player’s jump shot is the skill most affected by rust. Lucky for us, the Greek Freak doesn’t have a jump shot to worry about. Okay, that’s not totally fair, but I expect him to be in full attack mode coming off this hiatus.
Dunk | Khris Middleton (MIL) $7,500 vs. BOS
Eric Bledsoe will not be available for this game, and according to RotoGrinders’ CourtIQ tool, Middleton is the player that benefits the most. With Bledsoe off the floor, Middleton has seen a plus 5.9 percent increase in usage and the highest increase in DK points at plus 8.62 per 48 minutes.
Half-Court Shot | Daniel House (HOU) $3,800 @ DAL
With Eric Gordon out of this game, House will get the starting nod and should se close to 30 minutes. At $3,800, he is a great value that should allow you to fit some of the studs on this slate.
Blocked Shot | All Orlando Magic Players
Steve Clifford said he’s expecting a 10-to-11 man rotation because his guys, “aren’t ready to play 36-to-37 minutes yet”. That tells me, either A. No one will get over 30 minutes in this game, or B. His players aren’t in basketball shape. Either way, I’m avoiding them all — except one player. (read on to find out who)
Others I Like
- Rui Hachimura $7,400
Centers
Nothing But Net | Nikola Vucevic (ORL) $8,500 @ BKN
Vucevic is the only Magic player I feel comfortable playing, and that’s only because of his success versus the Nets over the years. He owns them. He had one game with 24 total rebounds on them this year and a double-double in the other game.
Dunk | Deandre Ayton (PHO) $7,900 @ WAS
The center position is a bit light on this slate, and truth be told, I’m worried Ayton may not be given the needed minutes to reach his potential as I think it’ll be a blowout. However, Ayton will be a low-owned tournament option.
Half-Court Shot | Daniel Theis (BOS) $5,000 @ MIL
The Bucks struggle to defend big men in the paint, and Theis’ price tag is cheap enough to make him a viable option.
Blocked Shot | Hassan Whiteside/Jusuf Nurkic
Until we know how their minutes will be divided, I’ll be avoiding both of these guys.
