Nothing But Net | My top plays of the night at his position. |
Dunk | A Dunk is a second or third tier player with the highest upside. |
Half-Court Shot | Otherwise known as a “punt play.” A Low-priced, high-upside player. |
Blocked Shot | A player I’ll be avoiding. Otherwise known as “Fading.” |
**Main Slate
Guards
Nothing But Net | Ben Simmons (PHI) $8,700 @ WAS
Simmons was atrocious in his last outing, and because of that, DraftKings lowered his price by $400. Now he gets a short-handed Wizards team that can’t defend anyone. They are giving up an average of 118 points per game in this restart. Simmons is one of those players that doesn’t need to score to be fantasy relevant, but I’d expect him to be very aggressive in this game to make up for his poor outing last game.
Dunk | Caris LeVert (BKN) $7,800 @ BOS
LeVert, among other Nets players, were all giving a “Load Management” day, and this young Nets team still found a way to beat the Bucks. Now well-rested, LeVert gets a Boston team that he dropped 66.5 DK points on in his only game against them this season. Granted, that game went into overtime, but it shows his upside. The Celtics are a tough matchup for anyone, but at 7.8k, LeVert is a great value with 60-plus point upside.
Half-Court Shot | Jordan Clarkson (UTA) $4,700 vs. MEM
I’m old enough to remember when Clarkson was the chalk value play a few days ago. After his six-point outing, everyone will be off him, but that’s exactly the reason I will have him in my lineups. He still has 30-point upside, and on a slate with not as much clear value, Clarkson is an excellent choice.
Blocked Shot | Lebron James (LAL) $10,700 vs. OKC
This comes down to price and how much will the Lakers need The King to be The King? This is also the first game of a back-to-back, and while the Lakers came out and said they aren’t going to rest their starters, there is still a chance James plays fewer minutes than he would if this were a playoff game.

- Mike Conley $5,800
Forwards
Nothing But Net | Pascal Siakam (TOR) $8,800 @ ORL
I’m playing the odds on this pick. Siakam is due a big game. I won’t go as far as to predict a 60-point game for Siakam in this game, but I wouldn’t be surprised by one either. I don’t have a lot of “real” stats to back up this call, just a gut call. Do with it what you will.

Dunk | Troy Brown Jr. (WAS) $5,500 vs. PHI
The entire Wizards team should be considered values every game. They have no superstar, none of them are priced over $7,000 and only one player is priced over $6,000. Brown has been a bright spot for the overmatched Wizards. The Wizards currently sit at 10.5 point underdogs, but the Wizards just don’t have the depth to sit players in junk time, Brown will have to play 30-plus minutes.
Half-Court Shot | Kyle Kuzma (LAL) $4,300 vs. OKC
Much like Jordan Clarkson, Kuzma was a chalky value not so long ago. I’m willing to jump back on the Kuzma train. The Lakers said they weren’t resting starters, but they could limit their minutes, which could give Kuzma more floor time.
Blocked Shot | Michael Porter Jr. (DEN) $6,200 @ SA
Don’t chase his 59.5 DK points from his last game. Even DraftKings is drinking the Kool-Aid, raising his price from $4,500 to $6,200. No thank you.

- Jayson Tatum $8,200
- Joe Harris $5,400
Centers
Nothing But Net | Joel Embiid (PHI) $10,400 @ WAS
Embiid is the only player on this slate over 10k that I feel comfortable rostering. Embiid is averaging 49.5 DK points against the Wizards over the last two seasons, and the Wizards just have no one on the roster to defend him. One of Embiid or Simmons is going to have a monster game, mark it down.
Dunk | Jarrett Allen (BKN) $5,400 @ BOS
Allen scored nearly 49 DK points at $5,600 and DraftKings lowers his price. I get it, the matchup isn’t a great one, but if the Celtics had a weakness on defense, it’s defending the big men. Jusuf Nurkic dropped 30 NBA points on them in only his second game of the year a couple of days ago.
Half-Court Shot | Nerlens Noel (OKC) $3,600 @ LAL
This one is a true shot in the dark. This could be called a full-court shot, but the Lakers have Anthony Davis, and as much as I love Steven Adams, the Thunder are going to need to use multiple guys to try and slow him down, which could lead to more time on the floor for Noel who is known as a good defender. There is also a chance Adams gets into foul trouble trying to slow the Brow, which would also benefit Noel.
Blocked Shot | Jonas Valanciunas (MEM) $7,400 @ UTA
You don’t beat Utah inside, you beat them on the outside. Rudy Gobert is, in fact, that good.
