DFS NBA Fanduel Lineup Advice 2/8/19
Whoooo!!!!!!!!! Sorry…had to get that out of my system first after Rondo’s game winning shot against the Celtics. And just as he hit over some green, I hope you all did as well. Yesterday’s main plays were a huge success, with all hitting value, including several 50 spots. Today provides a healthy 8 games for us and good news! – AD is back and ready to play some ball. We also have the new look 76ers in action as well as the Wizards…but I’ve been talking too long. Let’s jump right in. I will also now be including a rough lineup for you at the end of the article to help get your juices flowing. As always, obvious top tier plays will not be mentioned.
Here is today’s spreadsheet…click here.
Point Guard
Reggie Jackson – $6,800 vs NY
Like Kemba, Jackson is not a player I enjoy using. But both unfortunately and fortunately for me, Jackson’s been playing his butt off. He’s scored double digits in each of his last 7 games and provided three 40 bombs in that stretch. Today, he gets a home matchup against the reeling Knicks. I don’t know about you but another 40 spot may be in play. R-Jax also possesses some very noticeable home splits. On average, he shoots 6% more efficiently from the field, 5% better from deep, and scores 2 more points at home than on the road. Jackson checks out in all aspects today. Fire him up in all formats.
Dennis Smith Jr. – $6,600 @ DET
Didn’t expect this guy, did you? The good thing for us about these PGs is that neither plays a shred of defense, which usually leads to good things. With the Knicks, he’s finally back to getting healthy run and he’s been a fairly solid PPM producer. In his last game, he received 39 minutes of play so the opportunities should be aplenty. It also helps that he’s played his best ball this season while on 2 days of rest. He’s still appropriately priced and makes for an extremely solid cash play.

Other options: Eric Bledsoe, Tomas Satoransky, Shabazz Napier, Jalen Brunson, Tyler Johnson, Isaiah Canaan
Shooting Guards
Klay Thompson – $7,000 @ PHO

It’s Klay against the Suns. I’m not sure I need to explain much more than that. The Suns are allowing teams to shoot at a near 37% clip this season from beyond the arc while Klay shoots it at 39%. He usually provides 20-25 real points as a baseline so he doesn’t need to contribute as much in other aspects to hit value. It also helps that Kerr likes to play his starters in blowouts. Oh and did I mention that it’s his birthday? He’s as safe of a play as they come.
Andrew Wiggins – $6,000 @ NO
So far, this article could be named “Guys who are scoring dependent but have upside.” Wiggins is yet another player that I tend to fade but ever since Thibodeau was fired, Wiggins has been firing on all cylinders. He’s still largely inefficient from the field but his overall volume has kept him relevant and he’s now decided he likes to rebound the basketball. As of right now, the O/U for this game has not been announced but I expect it to be the highest of the slate and have a smaller spread as both teams don’t play much defense and like to push pace. Keep in mind that he’s on the 2nd half a B2B but at this price point with this matchup, I don’t think it should pose too much of a problem.
Other options: Monte Morris, Malcolm Brogdon, Dwyane Wade, Jordan Clarkson, Andre Iguodala, David Nwaba, Dion Waiters
Small Forwards
Kelly Oubre Jr. – $6,700 vs GSW
It took him a little while to get warmed up in Phoenix but he has since become one of the team’s best players, with majority of the team’s stars being banged up. He’s scored double digits in each of the last 15 games and swiped the ball 8 times over the last 3. This also sets up as a great matchup for Oubre style-wise as it is an up-pace game that should feature a decent amount of small ball. Regardless of a blowout or not, Oubre should continue to receive a healthy amount of playing time and is in line to hit value. He’s a fine play in all formats.
Justise Winslow – $5,800 @ SAC
The mid-tier SF options today aren’t at all exciting but this figures to be a good bounce-back spot for him. Although the game only has an O/U of 218, the spread is currently just at 3 pts and this is a substantial pace up spot for all Heat players. He does hold a significant size and weight advantage as well over De’Aaron Fox. It’s a hard sell for a majority of the Heat players with their offense but this game profiles pretty well for him. I’ll list him solely as a GPP play.
Other options: Trevor Ariza, Mikal Bridges, Darius Miller, JJ Redick (if Harris sits)
Power Forwards
Marvin Bagley III – $6,700 vs MIA
The kid is finally getting minutes in the 30s and he’s finally showing off what he can do. He’s scored double digits in 12 of his last 13 games, most recently registering 4 consecutive doubles-doubles. This game profiles as one more dominated by bigs than by the guards so I’m predicting 30+ min here for the youngster. Also, over the last 15 games, MIA has given up an average of 26/12/4 to opposing bigs, a statline that Bagley almost replicated just a couple game ago. Bagley is a terrific option in both cash games and GPPs and should be one of your options for a late night hammer.
Jeff Green – $5,900 vs CLE
With Otto Porter Jr. being traded on Wednesday, Green re-assumed his role as the starting PF and as a result was able to turn in his fourth straight 20 pt effort. He’s been one of the most key role players next to Ariza in Washington and is a good reason why they’re still somewhat competitive in the East. Today, he gets one a matchup against one of the worst defenses in the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavs have actually defended the 4 spot relatively well but “relatively well” is not nearly enough to have me cross off Green in this spot. He’s sub $6K and locked in for 30+ min against a subpar team defense. He’s a lock in cash and makes for an intriguing GPP play.

Centers
Hassan Whiteside – $8,000 @ SAC
A thing I like to do at this position is look for Phoenix, Los Angeles, Charlotte, Brooklyn, Chicago, or Sacramento. If any of them are playing, I write down the opposing center as a part of my player pool. Lucky for us, we got a few of them playing today but my favorite has to be Whiteside. Although his minutes get yanked around quite a bit, he’s one of those guys that can just explode in the right matchup and I’d certainly like to think this is one of them. As previously mentioned, this should be a game dominated by bigs and is a boost in production for all Heat players. Sacramento is 4th in pace while bottom 5 in offensive rebounds given up, total rebounds given up, and points in the paint allowed. This just screams out as a blowup spot for him. Even if he were to only receive 25 min, he could still reach value.
Mason Plumlee – $5,800 @ PHI
Plumlee continues to be one of the most underrated players in the game, both in real life and in fantasy. He’s a tough player that rebounds well, blocks shots, and can make that pinpoint pass. It’s a bit surprising to see him in this price range but it’s not without good reason. With Millsap out the last two games, he’s combined for 39 pts, 17 rebounds, and 6 assists to go along with 3 blocks and steals apiece. Obviously this play would be safer if Millsap were to sit out again and fortunately for us, this game is one of the beginning games so we should find out before lock. I think this game should be pretty competitive and Jokic will have to be dealing with Embiid all night. Plumlee is an excellent cash game option.
Other options: DeMarcus Cousins, Jarrett Allen, Brook Lopez, Ante Zizic, Thomas Bryant, Kevon Looney
