DFS NBA Fanduel Lineup Advice 3/21/19
Hello all! Happy Thursday to you guys and hopefully all is well. Yesterday was a bit funky with the injury news, some of which I fell victim to. There are several injuries to keep note of today as well so keep those eyes and ears open. We have a nice 6 game slate on the docket and a good pool of star power to choose from. I have a good feeling about today. Regardless, we’re getting older the more you read this so I’ll get right to it.
Point Guard
Jamal Murray – $6,900 @ WAS
Murray had a stellar first half of the season but since the All Star break, he has only hit 35+ just twice and the peripherals have been rather volatile. That being said, I can’t deny the matchup he has today. The game features a current O/U of 228 with just a 5 point spread so opportunities to produce should be aplenty. Washington also presents a massive pace-up for the Nuggets players while allowing the 4th most 3’s per game on average. Everything lines up for the Blue Arrow tonight. One knock to this play that I will mention is road splits. From the field and 3 point line respectively, he shoots 8% and 4% worse on the road. However, I believe the matchup trumps this and he reaches value. He’s a solid GPP option.
Tyus Jones – $5,300 @ CHA
Minnesota has already done us a major courtesy of ruling out both Rose and Teague ahead of time, leaving Jones all the minutes at the 1 and saving us a headache. Jones has been largely productive with the time he’s been given and he should be able to continue that trend against the Hornets. They are bottom 10 in defensive efficiency and Kemba has never been known as a ball hawk. This game should also be rather close and $5.3 for Jones with 30+ minutes of playing time is enough for me to jump aboard. He is firmly in play in cash games and is a viable option in GPPs.

Other options: Tomas Satoransky, Ricky Rubio, Jalen Brunson, Reggie Jackson, Ish Smith
Shooting Guards
Jeremy Lamb – $7,000 vs MIN
His move to the bench has done wonders for his fantasy production. Since the All Star break, he has dropped 35 or more in half of the games, including a 50 point bomb against Washington. His rebounding numbers have been a pleasant surprise for his owners and they have been reaping the benefits. Minnesota has been the absolute worst team at defending the perimeter and is in the bottom half in terms of rebounding. Lamb is probably my favorite non-stud play of the night and I see him exploding once more. In an earlier matchup this season, Lamb dropped a double-double of 18 points and 11 boards so a repeat performance is well in store. He’s a strong play in all formats.

Andrew Wiggins – $6,600 @ CHA
Sorry….another play from this game but this game definitely lines up well for a game stack with both teams having soft defenses. Wiggins is one of the most inefficient scorers in the league but with his shot volume, he’s always worth a shot in our lines. CHA allows teams to shoot over 53% from inside the arc, good for 8th worst in the league. Broken record here but with the likely competitive nature of this game, Wiggins at sub 7 is a very enticing option. I can never fully recommend him for cash but he’s a solid GPP option.
Other options: Buddy Hield, Tim Hardaway Jr., Wesley Matthews, Monte Morris, Josh Okogie
Small Forwards
Jabari Parker – $6,700 vs DEN
It’s good to see Parker finally getting minutes in an offense where he has free reign. He’s essentially been a cash game lock since being traded to Washington. Tonight, he gets a matchup against the Nuggets of Denver. While the matchup isn’t ideal, Parker has definitely upped his volume to the point where a subpar matchup is alleviated. It also doesn’t hurt that Ariza might miss the game due to a groin injury he suffered in yesterday’s contest against the Bulls. His absence would open up another 25 minutes and 14 shots to go around and Jabari is squarely in position to soak up a good portion of that usage. He’s a fine play in all formats.
Nemanja Bjelica – $5,000 vs DAL
Call this more of a gut play. Bjelica got a noticeable increase in playing time against the Nets this past Tuesday, presumably to match the small ball lineups that were thrown out by Brooklyn. Dallas played without their starting PF last night and opted to play Jackson as the small ball 4. If Kleber is ruled out once more, Bjelica could theoretically receive that same bump in minutes. DAL has struggled to rebound consistently since they lost Jordan so a sneaky double double could be in store. He is strictly a GPP option.
Other options: Joe Ingles, Harrison Barnes, Will Barton, Nicolas Batum, Jae Crowder, Tyreke Evans
Power Forwards
Derrick Favors – $6,700 @ ATL
Favors has been in very good form and having arguably one of his best months of the season. Despite not reaching 30 minutes, he’s been a cinch for double digit points, high amount of boards, and blocks. He’s recorded a block in every game this month. Atlanta is #1 in pace, bottom 5 in rebounding, and bottom 10 in blocks against. Atlanta usually finds ways to keep within range of above average teams and Favors should have no problem getting into his groove here. He’s a cash game lock and a viable GPP play.
Marvin Bagley III – $6,700 vs DAL
Bagley has been nothing if not solid since his return. He’s scored 20+ fantasy points in every game and is coming off back-to-back games of 35+. His minutes restriction has done nothing to limit him and it may even be off as soon as tonight. Mathematically, the Kings are not yet eliminated from the playoffs so they will still be playing their stars heavy minutes in the hopes that OKC suffers a massive meltdown. I fully expect Bagley to continue being given a healthy amount of run for the foreseeable future, barring injury. He makes for a fine play in both cash and GPPs.

Centers
Dewayne Dedmon – $5,600 vs UTA
Gobert is usually a matchup that strikes fear into daily fantasy players if they want to play a center against UTA. However, this season has not been the case. On the season, UTA has been a top 10 matchup for opposing centers. Dedmon has always flown under the radar in the fantasy world but he’s typically given solid production. He recently put up 34 against a staunch defender in Vucevic and I can see Dedmon getting his against Gobert. At 5.6, he’s a very reasonable play to have at lower ownership for a relatively cheap 30. He’s strictly a GPP play.
Willie Cauley-Stein – $5,500 vs DAL
This position is especially stacked with star power today and lacking in value but like Dedmon, WCS makes for a solid contrarian play if you decide to be risky and go down this route. The absence of DeAndre Jordan in the post for Dallas has made playing bigs against them more viable and with Cauley-Stein being at home, I can definitely see him hitting value. He’s strictly a cash game play.
Other options: Myles Turner, Mason Plumlee
