DFS NFL Yahoo Week 10
Week 10 is a great time to get into Yahoo’s DFS format. For those who have been reading my previous articles, you’ll know that I attempt to point out the best player price value on Yahoo’s Sunday slate.
For roster and scoring settings, check out my Week 1 article.
Home and Dome
There are a few elements that I look at in order to find the most desired matchups. There is what I call Home and Dome, teams that are playing at home with an indoor stadium. Wind can be a factor that can negatively impact passing offenses and being indoors takes that element away. There are five teams that play Home and Dome in the Week 10 Sunday Slate:
Arizona Cardinals vs Buffalo Bills
Detroit Lions vs Washington Football Team
Las Vegas Raiders vs Denver Broncos
Los Angeles Rams vs Seattle Seahawks
New Orleans Saints vs San Francisco 49ers
Quarterback
Derek Carr (LV) $27 vs DEN
We begin right away with a player in a Home and Dome game. Excellent conditions always help with production and that is reflecting in the Vegas betting lines. The Broncos-Raiders contest is one of only 4 games on the Sunday slate with a combined over/under of more than 50 points. Add into the fact that Denver has allowed the 6th most fantasy points to quarterbacks, and comes in a quite a value with a $27 price tag.
Tua Tagovailoa (MIA) $24 vs LAC

As I just mentioned there are only 4 NFL Week 10 with a projection of 50 total points or more. With fewer games projected to hit that mark this week, I am not opposed to stack in games outside that group. A cheap quarterback to attack in that regard is Tua Tagovailoa. At only $24, there is a receiving option in that same game that is more expensive (more on that soon). Last week, in his second career start, Tagovailoa produced 21.42 fantasy points. If he can replicate a similar performance this week, it could be a winner on this slate at his price.
Running Back
Aaron Jones (GB) $35 vs JAX
Not only are the Packers the heaviest favorites of the week (-14) but they also possess the highest implied total of the wee at 31.5 projected points. Yahoo has certainly raised Aaron Jones’s price as a result. Perhaps not enough to sway from playing him. The game situation is good as can be for a running back, especially one who has such heavy Red Zone usage. However, in the event of a blowout, the backups may get more run than usual. If Jones costs too much for you, a cheap alternative is his teammate Jamaal Williams. At half the price, he is in a range where the high-upside backup running backs are placed.
Mike Davis (CAR) $17 vs TB
One of those very players is Mike Davis who will get the start for the Panthers in Week 10. Yes, it is a difficult matchup against the Buccaneers. However, Tampa Bay has also allowed the 2nd most receptions per game to running backs. Since Davis has been so productive in the passing game (he had 8 catches against the Buccaneers in Week 1) this game does actually set up well for him.
More Value: Duke Johnson (HOU) $16

Wide Receiver
Keenan Allen (LAC) $26 @ MIA
This is somewhat of a preferred player price point. There are over half a dozen good options all within a $4 span. My favorite play is what appears to be the Chargers favorite target in the form of Keenan Allen. Outside of the contest he left with an injury, Allen has received double-digit targets in every game from his rookie quarterback. Considering how well the outside cornerbacks are for the Dolphins, a slot receiver like Allen may be even more poised for success.
Cooper Kupp (LAR) $24 vs SEA
Arguably my second favorite player placed in that price point is Cooper Kupp. Not only do we get a Home and Dome contest, but the Rams will be playing the team that has allowed the most fantasy points to wide receiver. While I do expect his Rams teammate to be even more productive, a $7 saving is so significant. You can also easily stack with Tyler Lockett who is also in this price range.
DeVante Parker (MIA) $17 vs LAC
As you can tell, I am attacking the stack in this matchup. With Preston Williams being placed on the I.R., DeVante Parker should be line for a mass amount of targets. At only $17, this could be a price that very well rises next week. While Williams’ absence could mean extra defensive attention for Parker, I’d take the chance with the likely uptick in volume.
More Value: Christian Kirk (ARI) $18
Tight End
Darren Waller (LV) $22 vs DEN
There are not many weeks where the top tight end will be only $22. Take advantage of a known target hog in a home and dome matchup with a combined over/under of 50.5. He also makes for an excellent stack option with his quarterback.
Dallas Goedert (PHI) $15 @ NYG
In his return from injury, Dallas Goedert played in 84% of the offensive snaps. Coming off a bye week, Goedert should be fully integrated back into the offense. During his first two-game of 2020, Goedert saw a combined 17 targets. The very next week was when he was hurt. To put only a $15 price tag on him, when the chance exists that he returns to the type of target share, is a risk I am gladly willing to take.
More Value: Hunter Henry (LAC) $14
Deep Dive
WR – John Brown (BUF) $13 @ ARI
Not only is the Bills-Cardinals game indoors, but it also holds the highest combined over/under on the week at 56.5 points. While there is temptation to pay up for Arizona’s alpha, or Buffalo’s best, Brown provides a very inexpensive option to get into this game. A monster game from Brown likely hinges on whether or not he avoids Patrick Peterson. At $13, I am willing to take that bet.
TE – Tyler Higbee (LAR) $13 vs SEA
An inexpensive way to buy into this Seahawks-Rams game is with tight end Tyler Higbee. With a combined over/under of 55 points, this is a matchup you will want a piece of. I always like to target tight ends in high scoring, high TD upside contests. You get that here at a bargain price.
Defense
Green Bay Packers $12 vs JAX
In my opinion, this is not the week to pay up at defense. It is never bad form to pick against the biggest underdogs on the week. But as 14 point favorites, the Packers could be in a position to smother the Jaguars offense.
Houston Texans $11 @ CLE
This has less to do with the Browns offense and more with the weather. With strong wind and rain expected at game-time, this could turn into a defensive slugfest as the Browns saw a few weeks ago when hosting the Raiders. The option of paying only $11 for a defense in that situation is too great to pass up.
