DFS USFL DraftKings Lineup Advice Week 2 (4/22)

Hope everyone had a good Week 1. Thanks to Draftkings’ mistake, no one had a bad week, so that was a good warmup so we could see how things would shake out. Here are a couple pieces of advice I can impart on you before we get to my plays;

  1. Draft “position groups” not players. What I mean by that, find teams with shallow depth at one position. There was a team last week that only had two running backs on the active roster, so I played both in different lineups, knowing one of them would get the volume.
  2. Don’t be afraid play two players from the same position from the same team. With only eight teams, trying to spread out all your players to different teams isn’t always the wise choice.
  3. Don’t pay up for defense. Just don’t.

Quarterbacks

De’Andre Johnson (NJ) vs. MICH $7,900

This quarterback situation is going to be a little tricky since they seem to be employing a 2QB offense, but of the two QBs, I prefer Johnson as he is the preferred rushing option, in fact, he is currently the leading rusher in the entire league after one week.

Jordan Ta’amu (TB) vs. NO $10,700

Ta’amu is probably the best QB in the league, or at least in the conversation, and his dual-threat ability makes him an easy choice in DFS, but his price is steep. The New Orlean Breakers allowed Stars QB to complete nearly 70 percent of his passes last week, Ta’amu could do that plus add some rushing yards and maybe even a score on the ground.

TJ Logan (NO) @ TB $6,400

I was all over this backfield last week, in fact, I had one lineup with both of them that paid off handsomely. I’m going back to them again this week and I’m okay with playing both in the same lineup once again. Logan has the higher PPR upside as he was the team’s second-leading receiver last week with four catches on four targets. He also had 15 carries on the ground for 56 yards.

Jordan Ellis (NO) @ TB $5,400

Where Logan thrives in the passing game, it was Ellis that got the volume on the ground with 18 carries. Ellis’s lack of receiving makes him a bit touchdown-dependent, but it’s also why he is a grand cheaper than his backfield mate.

Victor Bolden Jr. (BHAM) @ HOU $9,300

Volume, volume, volume. That’s what we need with the wide receivers, and VBJ did just that last week racking up eight targets and catching four for 45 yards. His teammate Osirus Mitchell is also on my radar with his seven targets last week. This should be a good game to target if you’re looking to stack a game. On the Gambler’s side, if you want a bring-back candidate, you can go with Jojo Ward over the more expensive Isaiah Zuber who only had two catches on two targets, but he caught a touchdown.

Lance Lenoir Jr. (MICH) @ NJ $7,600

Lenoir Jr. is another receiver that got a ton of volume in Week 1 with nine targets. With those nine targets he had 71 yards and a touchdown. The New Jersey Generals gave up the most points in the league last week, allowing 28 points to Stallions, so the Michigan Panthers should find the sledding a little easier than last week when they only put up 12 points.

Defense

Houston Gamblers vs. BHAM $3,700

When it comes to defense, I normally just scroll to the bottom and play the cheapest, which is excatly what I did last week and ended up using these Houston Gamblers to much success. The Stars are also in play as the as their opponent, the Maulers, only socred 3 points last week.
