DFS Week 2 Review: Yay or Nay Vol. 2
Week 2 was a promising disaster. I came up .61 points short of a payoff. That’s too close to bite without chewing, to be honest.
Looking at my picks (of many teams, this is a small selected team mixup-mashup) from last week, and whether I keep them or not for this week is up for grabs:
QB: Alex Smith, KC. 16.14FP
Yay or nay? I like Smith, enough to keep him. KC is playing the Chargers of LA, and I think that it will be a good game for him, mind you this is the first divisional game between the two, and playing in a different venue since the Chargers moved from San Diego.
Other options? Looking at week two, Brady and Carr are both the top two rated (not ranked) QB’s. If you go by yards alone, it’s Tom. I find it very hard for me to me to draft Brady (versus Houston), but he’s a possible, and Carr, is going to bring up the heat against the ‘skins.
RB: Fornette, Jax. 13.1FP
Yay or nay? I still like Fournette, even with the Jags dropping a game and coming back to earth. He’s proving to be a great asset to a team that should be at least a .500 team (IMHO). More plays, more time on the field and he will be in contention for ROY.
Other options? Hyde of SF had a great running day with 100+ yards, and no TDs. They’re playing the Rams in a Thursday night game, and the Rams stunk up last week (see my D pick below!)
RB: Lynch, Oak. 11.4FP
Yay or Nay? I’m with him all the way. I know his potential and his playing ability, and let’s just say this: THE RAIDERS ARE FOR REAL BABY!
Other options: Freeman of GB and Hunt from KC both scored twice in their respective games and should be ready to pummel the defenses once again.
WR: Crabtree, Oak. 29FP

Yay or nay? That’s a no-brainer! He was my top point scorer and I know where my loyalty lies! That’s not to say that there aren’t better receivers out there, but he’s going to play well against Washington. I predict that.
Other options: Nelson from the Cards. He’s playing amazing on a good team and playing with Palmer and Fitzgerald, there is always a good opportunity for him. Receiving over 100 yards is great and a TD is a great indicator. They have a tough option in a Monday night game against Dallas, but still, one of the best options.
WR: Diggs, Min. 4.1FP
Yay or Nay? Drop this boy! Sadly, after the previous weeks win for the Vikings, they fell back into their normal groove of just barely moving in a loss to Pittsburgh. I can’t keep a player who is not producing.
Other options: Jones of Atlanta. In what ended up being the second best QB match-up last week, Jones caught five passes for 100+ yards without a TD to his name. Add a touchdown to those numbers in a game this week against the Lions, and hello!
TE: James, Pit. 4.7FP
Yay or Nay? The agony of keeping him is beyond words. I cannot see myself taking him again. If he’s not an option for the pass, then you have to go with….
Other options: Gronk, NE. And I say this to myself, wtf? I need a Gronk on my team! Shoot, he had 20.6 FP last week! I’d be just foolish not to draft him. So yeah. I have to have a Pat on my team, but I do like Gronk.
K: Tavecchio, Oak. 9FP
Yay or Nay? As long as Tav keeps kicking through the uprights, he’s going to be the starter for Oakland, hands down. Jano-who? Yes, he’s staying on my team for week three.
Other options: Raiders got them haters, so Boswell of the Steel town is a great choice, and guess who they are playing? The Bears! I think he might have a glorious night of nights.
D: Rams, 2FP
Yay or Nay? Not on my life would I draft this team again. Let me tell you that, I was drawing a winning payout, until, the Rams stunk up the place last week. It was such a pitiful place to be in, watching their numbers drop after each score and that final two minutes? Unbearable. Absolutely no way.
Other Options? Tampa Bay. They gave up only 7 points total in two games. They’re playing in Minnesota this week, and the atmosphere or the dome should be on the Bucs side. Another option would be the Ravens, with their only given 10 total points, or Miami, who in one game, has only allowed 6 points.
So, week three is upon us. I’m actually hoping for a better more profitable outcome.
Until next week!
