Draftkings and Fanduel MLB Lineup Advice 6/10/15 by RotoTrick

Top Pitching Options

Matt Harvey (DK – $10700, FD – $11000) – Matt Harvey, Jake Arrieta, and Tyson Ross all face teams with above average wOBA and below average strikeout rates vs. RHP. With no clear matchup to target, the best talent is the way to go. Harvey has a 2.79 SIERA and 27.6% strikeout rate on the year. He’s a -160 favorite against a Tim Hudson, who has a 4.05 SIERA on the year.

Jose Quintana (DK – $6800, FD – $7600) – Quintana has pitched better than his 4.28 ERA would suggest this year, with a 3.75 SIERA and decent 20.7% strikeout rate. He’s also lasted 6 innings in all but two starts this year, with those being the only outings he allowed more than 3 runs. He’s an intriguing GPP option today as his strikeout potential is high against an Astros team with a 24.7% strikeout rate (30th) vs. LHP.

Vincent Velasquez (DK – $4300, FD – $8100) – Velasquez is another intriguing GPP option. He’ll be making his MLB debut against the White Sox after posting a 1.37 ERA and going 3-0 at AA. While He’s the 8th highest pitcher on Fanduel, he’s the 2nd cheapest pitcher on Draftkings at $4300. The White Sox mediocre 0.300 wOBA (21st) and Velasquez could be a sneaky play.

Top Hitting Options

Jose Bautista – OF (DK – $5300, FD – $5400) – Bautista is a must play in cash games today on Draftkings. His price point is lower on DK than Fanduel, which means he has much more potential for ROI if you slot him in your DK roster due to the scoring formats between the two sites. He is sporting a .389 wOBA and a .519 SLG against RHP this year and faces off against right-handed Tom Koehler of the Marlins tonight. Koehler is averaging .741 HR/9, which will most certainly go up tonight as the Blue Jays offensive sports HR power at nearly every spot in the lineup. If you are going to choose one upper priced Blue Jay tonight, go with Bautista.

Todd Frazier 1B/3B (DK – $5000, FD – $4200) – People are likely to be on Joey Votto today, after his 3 HR performance yesterday, but I like Frazier. Jerome Williams has really struggled this year, with a 4.59 SIERA and measly 13.1% strikeout rate. He’s also given up a much higher wOBA to righties at 0.414 and allowed 11 of his 12 HR to righties. Frazier has been crushing both lefties and righties, with a 0.413 wOBA and 0.298 ISO vs. RHP. He’s a great play at 3B today.

Adrian Gonzalez 1B (DK – $4200, FD – $3600) – Draftkings inexplicable hates the Dodgers, as their bats are always a few hundred dollars under priced. Today, with the Dodgers taking on a weak pitcher in Jeremy Hellickson, AGon is strangely priced at $4200. He’s got the platoon advantage and sports a 0.431 wOBA and 0.275 ISO vs. RHP. Lock him in at first base.

Top Value Play

Colby Rasmus – OF (DK – $3600, FD – $2300) – Stop the madness! Rasmus’ price on FanDuel doesn’t make him just a value play today, but perhaps one of the best GPP plays of the year. Rasmus is going up against LHP Quintana of the White Sox tonight. Rasmus has a wOBA of .342 and an ISO of .207 against LHP this year. Rasmus could be in line for a multi-hit game tonight and for his price that’s tremendous value. Not to mention he will barely be owned in large tournaments. The only concern with Rasmus is that the rest of the Astros only have a .269 wOBA and have a high strikeout rate, so the backup and run scoring potential may not be as high as we’d like to see. Regardless, you can spend up for a Harper, Bautista, and/or Stanton and feel comfortable slotting in Rasmus for $2300 or $3600.
