Draftkings and Fanduel MLB Lineup Advice 6/23/15 by RotoTrick
Top Pitching Options
Madison Bumgarner (DK – $11200, FD – $10900) – Of all the aces today, Bumgarner easily has the best matchup at home against San Diego. The Padres are mediocre against lefties with a 0.304 wOBA (18th) and 23.5% strikeout rate (25th). Bumgarner has a 3.28 SIERA and 23.3% strikeout rate on the year, which are actually a bit below his career averages, so he should pick it up as the year moves along and this is a great place to start.
Mike Fiers (DK – $8200, FD – $7600) – Fiers seems to fly under the radar despite his strong play this year, likely due to his 4.50 ERA and 3-7 record. However, he sports a solid 3.62 SIERA and 24.6% strikeout rate. The Mets have struggled against RHP this year with a 0.291 wOBA (28th) and 20.4% strikeout rate (21st). As a -132 favorite, he offers great value at his mid-level price point, especially on Fanduel.
Top Hitting Options
Paul Goldschmidt (DK – $6000, FD – $6100) – One of the best power hitters in baseball gets a three game set at Coors. You don’t need much more analysis than that. He’s expensive, but if you decide to go cheap at pitching in your GPPs he should be in your lineup.
David Peralta (DK – $4300, FD – $2500) – Peralta is much more affordable than Goldschmidt and gets the platoon advantage against a very weak righty in Kyle Kendrick. Peralta has a 0.336 wOBA and 0.190 ISO vs. RHP on the year. He’s a great option for both cash games and GPPs, especially on Fanduel where he is dirt cheap.
Logan Morrison (DK – $3700, FD – $2400) – Morrison had a great matchup yesterday and didn’t deliver, drawing only a walk for 2 DK points. However, he gets another great matchup today against Jeremy Guthrie who allows a 0.414 wOBA to LHH on the year. He’s hitting at the top of the Mariners order and should be able to do some damage, especially with his extra at bat.
Value Play
Garrett Jones (DK – $2900, FD – $2200) – Jones and the Yankees get another (perhaps worse) soft righty from the Phillies making all of their lefties in play. Jones got two hits, a double, and two RBIs yesterday, notching 12 DK points and his price went down $400. He’s a great value in the middle of a hot Yankees lineup at a great price.
