Draftkings and Fanduel MLB Lineup Advice 7/2/15 by DFSChaser

Max Scherzer (DK – $14500, FD – $12500) – The only debate today is if you want to pay the big bucks for Scherzer. He draws another almost perfect matchup as he faces the Atlanta Braves and their fresh new face on the mound, Manny Banuelos. Scherzer is 9-5 with a 1.79 ERA and 130 Ks, but as many DFS players know those statistics really don’t matter. What really matters is that Scherzer has a .959 WHIP, 10.281 K/9, a 2.46 SIERA and a .218 wOBA. Atlanta’s offense has fared much better against RHP than LHP this year striking out almost 6% less (22.6% v 16.9%), but with Freddie Freeman still on the DL, the Braves offense is stretched thin and Scherzer won’t have a problem picking them apart. He will need 29 points on DK and 19 points on FD to hit 2x and 1.5x value. This shouldn’t be a problem on either site and there is always potential for another CG with only 2 or 3 hits allowed and 10+ Ks.
Jacob deGrom (DK – $10300, FD – $11000) – deGrom is another awesome play on the mound today squaring off against the struggling Chicago Cubs. Over the past two weeks, the Cubs have a .299 wOBA, an 87 wRC+, and have been striking out 22.4% of the time, which is in the bottom 20% of the league in each category. With Fowler, Bryant, and Rizzo there is always the potential for a short spurt of run production, but nothing to fear for deGrom who has been marvelous over his last couple starts putting up 26 DK points or more in 6 of his last 7 starts and owning a .959 WHIP (yes, same as Scherzer) and 9.702 K/9 on the year. The O/U on the game is 6.5 with deGrom facing the Cubs (arguable) Ace Jake Arrieta (another solid play today). I bet Vegas wanted to get that O/U down to 5.5 as there won’t even be that many runs scored. If you are hesitant to pay up for Scherzer, deGrom is a great #2.
Other Pitching Options:
Jake Arrieta (DK – $10600, FD – $9900)
Corey Kluber (DK – $10900, FD – $11000)
Scott Kazmir (DK – $9200, FD – $9000)
Top Hitting Options
Chris Colabello – OF (DK – $3300, FD – $3100) – Colabello has solid numbers against LHP this year with a .376 wOBA, .213 ISO, and a SLG of 508. He will be batting in the middle of the explosive Toronto offense as they square off against Wade Miley… put this one in the books already. Since Colabello is still pretty cheap on DK and mid range on FD, he offers great ROI potential and should fit nicely into your lineup as you spend up on pitching today.
Paul Goldschmidt – 1B (DK- $6000, FD – $5400) – Another great RHB v. LHP matchup today and Goldie is already licking his chops. He has a .713 SLG against LHP this year, .713! Including a .500 wOBA and .338 ISO. Which LHP does he get today? Sale? Lester? Nope… Chris Rusin who has a 1.159 HR/9 and a 1.738 WHIP. Multi-hit day for Goldie guaranteed and more than likely a dong, which will be number 21 and number 9 at home. If you are worried about ROI, he has hit safely in 10/11 games (last night was his first 0-for in 10 games) and he has 5 SB during that time. One hit, one SB, and one RBI will put him at 1.7 value on DK and that could happen in the first inning. He hasn’t hit a homer in 25 at-bats, so he is due… big time.
