Top Pitching Values

Noah Syndergaard (DK – $10700, FD – $8400) – If you read this every day, you know the drill by now, the Nationals are a depleted baseball team right now and the Mets’ pitchers are prime to take advantage. Syndergaard has a 2.96 SIERA and 25.9% strikeout rate on the year, making Thor another great option for the early slate, especially on Fanduel.

Mike Bolsinger (DK – $7200, FD – $6100) – While the Braves are significantly worse against lefties, they are still a mediocre team against righties and without their first baseman that was best able to face righties. The Braves have a 0.306 wOBA (20th) and 17.4% strikeout rate (4th) on the year. While that isn’t a lot of whiffs, they have struck out 20.7% over the last 14 days, so the potential is there. Bolsinger has a 3.43 SIERA and 22.5% strikeout rate in the year, and as one of the biggest favorites on the day at -152, makes a nice SP2 on the early slate.

Lance Lynn (DK – $9900, FD – $9600) – Despite Jose Fernandez and Sonny Gray pitching on the evening slate, I like Lynn the best against the White Sox. Lynn has quietly pitched great this year with a 3.32 SIERA and 25.7% strikeout rate on the year. Meanwhile, the pedestrian White Sox post a 0.297 wOBA (25th) and 19.6% streikout rate (14th) agaianst RHP, and a 0.283 wOBA (25th) and 21.4% strikeout rate (18tH) over the last 14 days. Lynn is a -137 favorite and is easily the top cash game play of the night.

Top Hitter Values

Prince Fielder 1B (DK – $5000, FD – $4400) – Fielder has 4 hits, 4 RBI, 2 Rs, and a HR over the last two games at Coors and his price went down $200 again. He loses the platoon advantage, but De La Rosa allows a 0.383 wOBA to LHH and Fielder puts up a 0.348 wOBA and 0.183 ISO against LHP. He’s a great play again.

Matt Holliday OF (DK – $3900, FD – $3100) – Holliday is back and DHing for the Cards and hit a homerun last night. Today he gets to face John Danks, who allows a 0.382 wOBA and 0.528 SLG to RHH, along with his 4.48 SIERA. Holliday has a 0.363 wOBA against LHP and makes a solid mid-priced option in the outfield for the night slate.

Gerardo Parra OF (DK – $3800, FD – $3400) – Another mid-priced outfielder in a great position is Parra. He’s picked up right were he left of after the All-Star break and faces the Indians least imposing pitcher in Cody Anderson. Despite allowing only a 0.216 wOBA to LHH and posting a 0.89 ERA, Anderson has a 4.44 SIERA and the wheels could be coming off soon. Parra has a 0.363 wOBA and 0.194 ISO against RHP on the year and has been even hotter lately with a 0.405 wOBA and 0.250 ISO over the last 14 days. He’s a great value in the OF for the early slate.

Jake Smolinski OF (DK – $2100, FD – $3000) – His price only went up $100 and the matchup gets even better with a weaker lefty in Felix Doubrunt. Lock and load again if he’s hitting in the middle of the order again and you need a solid punt play.
