Top Pitching Options

Madison Bumgarner (DK – $10600, FD – $11400) – MadBum got roughed up in his last start in the Texas heat, which is beginning to look like the new Coors-lite. But this matchup will be in Atlanta against a weak opponent. The Braves have a 0.283 wOBA (28th), 77 wRC+ (27th), and 21.3% strikeout rate (16th) vs. LHP. Bumgarner has a 3.15 SIERA and 24.8% strikeout rate on the year. Matt Harvey will likely be higher owned, making MadBum a great GPP option in addition to cash games (an argument could be made for both in your cash games today).

Taylor Jungmann (DK – $8300, FD – $7900) – It’s Jungmann’s turn for the elite matchup against the woeful Padres. The Padres have a 0.297 wOBA (26th), 92 wRC+ (21st), and 21.9% streikout rate (26th). On the other hand, Jungmann has been solid this year with a 3.82 SIERA and 20.5% strikeout rate. Gong against Ian Kennedy, Jungmann should also get some run support and be in line for the win, making him a solid mid-priced value play.

Top Hitting Options

Nelson Curz OF (DK – $6200, FD – $5600) – If you’re playing the early slate, Curz should be in your lineup. If you haven’t rostered him the last two days because his price has been so high, he should be in your lineup today with the platoon advantage against Chris Rusin. Cruz now has HRs in his last 5 games and 7 of his last 10. He has absolutely crushed lefties this year and could be in line for a double dong today against Rusin. Slot him in your lineup and figure out the rest later.

Brandon Belt 1B (DK – $4100, FD – $3800) – Over the last 14 days Brandon Belt has been crushing the ball with a 0.386 wOBA and 0.283 ISO. That includes 4 HRs, 10 RBI, and 7 runs. That production should continue against Williams Perez, who allows a 0.371 wOBA to LHH and has a 4.60 SIERA on the year. At only $4100, Belt makes a great value/high upside play at 1B. He allows you to not spend too much at the premium position and possibly get Harvey and Bumgarner in your lineup.

Colby Rasmus OF (DK – $3400, FD – $2700) – With Tucker leaving Tuesdays game after getting hit on the tricep, Rasmus could be in line to move up in the order and get a premium matchup against Nick Martinez. As mentioned above, the Texas heat has made Arlington almost Coors-lite lately, and the runs have come in bunches. Rasmus should be in the middle of the action and makes a nice value play in the OF.
