DraftKings Value Plays- NFL Week 17 (12/29/19)

Week 17 is here. What a ride. Not to worry, we will still have some values at least through first 2 rounds of playoffs, after that, you are on your own. For the final week of the regular season, expect a lot of last minute deactivation’s so I will list some values as of Friday afternoon but stay alert as you will have an edge on your opponents if you follow the breaking news.

Please note, a ton can (and will) change between article posting and kickoff, follow me on Twitter for all my thoughts on additional value coming and going before lineups lock.

QUARTERBACK

Sam Darnold ($5,000), New York Jets at Buffalo Bills:

Not sure if I will pull the trigger on this one myself as the news is breaking all Sam’s skill position players are questionable. If the Jets are throwing in the towel, AVOID. However, if they want to play this game, they will get to do so against a Bills team that is more interested in keeping people fresh for the playoff run. He is priced like he is facing the elite unit that won’t be fully on the field.

RUNNING BACK

Damien Williams ($4,700), Kansas City Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Chargers:

Another week, another Chiefs RB sent to the IR. We have come full circle with this stable of running backs. I will be plugging the off-season darling back into my lineups to see if he can re-create last year’s magic. Monitor the news of Shady McCoy, if he is another healthy inactive, this could be a LOCK BUTTON play.

WIDE RECEIVER

Greg Ward ($4,700) Philadelphia Eagles at New York Giants:

Another value visit for Mr. Ward. The de-facto #1 gets an even greater opportunity with Zach Ertz on the shelf. The Eagles have to go all out to get in the playoffs so expect to see plenty of targets for Greg here.

TIGHT END

Irv Smith ($2,800), Minnesota Vikings vs. Chicago Bears:

This one will require some monitoring but I anticipate Kyle Rudolph getting the day off or seeing only a few possessions. Irv will enter as the most explosive playmaker for a 2nd string offense. At his price, you don’t need him to do much.

DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS

Chicago Bears ($2,100) at Minnesota Vikings:

I like a lot of defenses this week but it’s going to be hard for me not to lock in the Bears’ defense inexplicably priced at 2.1K. This was good value before the news that most of the 1st string offense would rest this game. Now it might be the best spot we have seen all year. Don’t hate me when they only provide 5 points though.
