DraftKings Value Plays- NFL Week 9 (11/3/19)

Most of the week 8 values ended up being chalk and busting. O well, it is going to happen. In week 9 I think it’s imperative to find some good values on this slate as the great plays are aggressively priced up and there are no glaring plays as of Thursday night.

Please note, a ton can (and will) change between article posting and kickoff, follow me on Twitter for all my thoughts on additional value coming and going before lineups lock.

QUARTERBACK

Derek Carr ($5,500), Oakland Raiders vs. Detroit Lions:

I anticipate Derek’s counterpart, Matt Stafford, to be the cash game chalk of the week. As this game is projected to go over 50 points, I don’t mind saving some salary and grabbing shares of the other offense. As a bonus, Detroit traded one of its best players in the secondary which will give Derek more upside.

RUNNING BACK

Mark Walton ($4,500), Miami Dolphins vs. New York Jets:

Please note: If James Conner gets ruled out, Jaylen Samuels will be the clear chalk and best option on the board. For now, the only option I see on the main slate is Mark Walton. He is the 1a running back in Miami and this will be the best matchup he sees the entire year. If he can’t get it done in this spot we know we can’t trust him going forward.

WIDE RECEIVER

D.J. Moore ($4,800) Carolina Panthers vs. Tennessee Titans:

We saw what Mike Evans did to this secondary last week, so I will go back to attacking them with Carolina. D.J. Moore has been consistent but we haven’t seen his play making skills flash like we did last year. I think this is the spot where he puts up a high ceiling game. It’s rare you can get a playmaker like D.J. at less than 5K.

Jarvis Landry ($4,500) Cleveland Browns at Denver Broncos:

This one involves some projecting on who you think Chris Harris will shadow as he is the only player in Denver’s secondary that worries me. I anticipate he is on OBJ which will funnel more targets to Jarvis Landry. Jarvis isn’t a ceiling player but could easily return 3-4X value against a floundering Denver team.

TIGHT END

Jonnu Smith ($3,800), Tennessee Titans vs. Carolina Panthers:

Jonnu was aggressively priced up after his performance last week but there was no denying he was Ryan Tannehill’s preferred target. It appears Delanie Walker will be out for an extended period of time so fire up Jonnu again as a value option on a slate lacking them.

DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS

Carolina Panthers ($2,800) vs. Tennessee Titans:

A favored home defense with an aggressive pass rush, playing against one of the worst lines in the NFL. Just going to leave that here to marinate. They will be chalky but this spot makes too much sense.
