DraftKings Value Plays- Wildcard Weekend 2020

Welcome to Wildcard weekend! Where hitting the right value(s) is the key to this short slate. We always need to take some educated risks on these short slates because there isn’t likely to be “obvious” value as everyone will suit up for the playoffs.

Please note, a ton can (and will) change between article posting and kickoff, follow me on Twitter for all my thoughts on additional value coming and going before lineups lock.

QUARTERBACK

Only a thousand dollars separates the highest priced QB, Russell Wilson at $6,800 and the lowest priced QB, Tom Brady at $5,800. So unless you want to go #YOLO and play a backup QB (you sick puppy) or Taysom Hill (even sicker) you won’t be finding any value at the QB position. We will let the rest of the lineup construction dictate our QB selection.

RUNNING BACK

Sony Michel ($4,600), New England Patriots vs. Tennessee Titans:

Did you forget what Sony did last year in the playoffs? Over the last month of this season, I have seen the Patriots renew their focus on game planning around Sony in anticipation of their hopeful playoff run. Hard to stomach many RB’s below 5K so if you are looking for savings, this is the spot.

WIDE RECEIVER

Corey Davis ($3,800) Tennessee Titans at New England Patriots:

There should be plenty of below 5K values at WR to choose from. I will highlight the guy who will not get shadow coverage from potential DPOY, Stephon Gilmore, in a game where the Titans will need playmakers. Not for the faint of heart but he does carry a higher ceiling than most #2 WR’s.

TIGHT END

Kyle Rudolph ($3,500), Minnesota Vikings at New Orleans Saints:

Last week we highlighted his backup. Now a fresher Kyle Rudolph will be needed in a potential high scoring affair. He went 4 straight weeks in November and early December where he provided double digit points. You get that here with the opportunity it creates, you are in good position.

DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS

Houston Texans ($2,600) vs. Buffalo Bills:

I expect this to be the chalky defense of the week but it will be hard to resist. Texans are at home and facing a first time playoff QB who is prone to taking sacks and making turnovers. I won’t overthink this one too much.
