ESPN no longer in the Schilling business as they let him go

What a banner year so far for ESPN, as Curt Schilling, earlier this week, was the latest high-profile ESPN personality to be let go after sending a tweet in regards to the recent law pass by the state of North Carolina on transgenders in the bathroom. I would place the blame on ESPN more than I would Schilling, as ESPN knew what they getting in Schilling when they decided to make him one of their main baseball analysts. He is a very opinionated person, passionate person who, in this case, went over the edge.

According to ESPN, this was not the first time Schilling was in hot water. He had a controversial tweet that was not baseball related that resulted in a demotion from ESPN’s Sunday Night Broadcasts. It seems like Social Media is not Schilling’s best friend these days. In this business, he could potentially go to Fox Sports (who needs every bit of attention that they can get) to revive his MLB Analyst role. I hope Schilling gets another chance, he is too good of an analyst to be kept on the sidelines, however, he will have to tone down his act in order to stay employed this time. There’s no question Curt Schilling was a great pitcher in Major League Baseball. I would definitely like to see him in the hall of fame, one day.

There’s no question Curt Schilling was a great pitcher in Major League Baseball and a good, if not great, MLB analyst, and I would definitely see him as a Hall of Fame player one day, but he needs to learn to take fellow ESPN analyst’s advice, “Don’t press send!”
