Extra Innings: DraftKings Cheat Sheet Sidekick
Top Pitching Option:
Johnny Cueto (vs MIL, $10,400) – Forget about Clayton Kershaw tonight. His price is just too steep to warrant playing him in GPP formats tonight. If you are only rolling out cash game lineups, I’d get some exposure to him, but in GPP formats, it is all about Johnny Cueto tonight. Cueto is sporting a 1.86 ERA, but he just keeps getting unlucky in the win/loss category. His record is currently 1-2, but he is pitching much better than his record indicates. Averaging 26.6 fantasy points per game so far this season, Cueto is one of the best pitchers in the league right now statistically speaking. He is pitching against a Milwaukee Brewers team that he nearly shutout away from home in his last game. Pitching at home tonight, a shutout is definitely a possibility. Did I mention that he has 32 strikeouts in 29 innings pitched?

Top Hitting Option:
Dee Gordon (vs NYM, $4,400) – Dee Gordon is hands down my favorite “top hitting option” tonight. He faces Rafael Montero and the New York Mets in Miami. Montero is getting a spot start, as the Mets are attempting to give their starting rotation a bit of a rest during this series. The air density in Miami is good for hitters tonight, but that could change, as rain might make them close the dome. The good news is that even if it does rain, the game will be played. Gordon is a great GPP option, as he knows how to hit for power and steal bases. He is hitting .395 so far this season and averaging 9.5 fantasy points per game. His price tag isn’t ridiculous, so lock him in tonight.

Value Hitting Option:
Jeff Francoeur (at STL, $2,100) – Jeff Francoeur is solely a GPP play tonight. He is facing off against Michael Wacha, who is pitching great so far this season, but Francoeur does have a little bit of power and his price tag is extremely low. At only $100 over minimum price, he will save a ton of cap space, and he could easily hit value with a bloop single. Imagine if he decides to go yard. He is only hitting .200 so far this season, but he does have two home runs. If you are looking to play Kershaw or stack an expensive team tonight, Francoeur can provide a reduction in salary cap stress.
