Fantasy Basketball: Add’em or Drop’em for 3/11/16

What’s up, GF2 fans! It’s time once again for my fantasy basketball Add’em or Drop’em players for this week. It’s almost playoff time around the fantasy basketball world, which means it’s time to grab those last few hot players to bolster your roster up for the stretch run. Everyone has those few guys on their team that it’s time to cut ties with and move on to someone better. Luckily for you guys I’m here to help, so let’s get started.

Here’s my fantasy basketball Add’em or Drop’em players for this week:

Devin Booker, Suns SG

Booker is owned in 61.2 percent of ESPN fantasy basketball leagues this season. Booker has quickly become one of my favorite players to watch recently and should be someone you look at to pick up off of your waiver wire. This season, he has averaged 11.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 25.1 minutes per game for Phoenix. These aren’t eye-popping numbers but these stats don’t tell us much about his recent play. One key stat for Booker is his usage rate, in all but six of his last 34 games he’s taken at least 10 shots. That stat alone tells us that he’s a threat to score plenty of points on any given night.

Verdict: Add’em

Tony Parker, Spurs PGTony Parker

Parker is owned in 66.2 percent of ESPN fantasy basketball leagues this season. It’s about that time of the year for the San Antonio coaching staff to start resting some of their valuable assets for playoff time. Parker is one of those guys that will be in and out of the Spurs lineup for the rest of the season, so he can’t be counted on for weekly fantasy production. This season, Parker has averaged 12.3 points, 5.1 assists and 2.5 rebounds in 27.1 minutes per game. His overall stats for the season are good but I don’t expect him to put up great numbers going forward.

Verdict: Drop’em

Robert Covington, 76ers PF

Covington is owned in 62.7 percent of ESPN fantasy basketball leagues this season. With the constant injuries to big guys such as Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor for the 76ers, Covington’s fantasy value only increases every week. So far this year, he’s averaged 11.9 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.6 steals per contest for Philadelphia. Lately, Covington has increased both his three-point efficiency and free-throw attempts, so that’s always a great sign.

Verdict: Add’em

Otto PorterOtto Porter, Wizards SF

Porter is owned in 58.0 percent of ESPN fantasy basketball leagues this season. At the beginning of the year, I was super high on Porter’s fantasy value, but after a few injuries, he just hasn’t been producing for Washington. This year, he has averaged 11.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 30 minutes per game. The guy sees plenty of time on the court but just doesn’t do enough to validate a roster spot on your fantasy teams. I’d much rather roster a guy such as Covington who is showing great promise going into fantasy playoff time.

Verdict: Drop’em

Gary Harris, Nuggets SG

Harris is owned in 43.3 percent of ESPN fantasy basketball leagues this season. With Danilo Gallinari out with an injury, someone had to step it up offensively for the Nuggets and that guy has been Harris. Over the last few weeks, he’s had at least five games where he logged 40+ minutes on the court for Denver and shouldn’t be slowing down anytime soon. So far this year, Harris has averaged 11.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 32.1 minutes per contest.

Verdict: Add’em
