Fantasy Football Cut’em or Keep’em week 15

Welcome to Week 15’s version of “Cut’em or Keep’em”. Each week, I’ll be assessing many players who have been on the chopping block recently. For the most part, I’ll focus on guys who have an ownership rate of 50% or above. An important factor to account for is that just because I classify someone as a “Cut” does not mean you should drop him without hesitation. That classification simply means they are droppable. If there are no good options on the waiver wire, don’t drop a guy to simply drop a guy. Now, onto my advice

Cut’em or Keep’em Week 15

Michael Floyd, (NE) 41.6% owned

Michael Floyd has been nothing short of a disappointment so far in his NFL career. On Monday, the police Floyd with a DUI, and then was cut two days later by the Cardinals. One might ask, why would Floyd be even considered on this list? Because of who signed him. The Patriots claimed Floyd with low-risk contract on the waivers.  Bill Belichick has shown his expertise in being able to turn random players into fantasy starters in the past, so imagine what he could do with a former first round pick.  Verdict:  Keep

Ty Montgomery, (NE) 47.6% owned

Montgomery fell back to earth after week 10 and put up 13 points over the next four weeks. Montgomery, as a backup, is virtually worthless. James Starks recently went through the concussion protocol, so Montgomery could see an uptick in touches. Keep the WR/RB hybrid on your roster until you know more about Starks’ injury.  Verdict:  Keep

Devontae Booker, (DEN) 83.6% owned

This paragraph is gonna hurt. Booker was easily my second favorite RB in the draft class. I loved his powerful running style and his agility at the second level. Even though I had strong feelings about the Former Utah RB, I recognize it’s time to drop him in your respective fantasy leagues. Though prior to last week he was averaging 11 points per start, he was also gaining just 2.4 yards with each carry. He only had one touch last week, it is time to let him go.   Verdict: Cut

Carson Palmer, (ARI) 76.6% owned

Somehow, Carson Palmer still is owned in 3/4 leagues around the country. Who knows what logic his owners are using. Palmer ranks 26th in the NFL in passing rating, completion %, and yards per attempt. He is not in the top 10 of ANY major statistic among QBs. Fantasy wise, he has scored over 20 points just twice since week one and finishes the season against LA and SEA, two tough defenses.    Verdict: Cut

Eric Ebron, (DET) 72.6% owned

The tight end market this year is putrid. There is not a SINGLE TE averaging over 8.5 per game. To put that in perspective,  four defensives, eight kickers, 23 wide receivers, 22 running backs, and 28 quarterbacks are achieving that level. Even with that horrible market, Ebron could be upgraded. Tight ends are supposed to make their money in the end zone, and Ebron has one TD the entire year.   Verdict: Cut
