Fantasy Football: Keep ‘Em or Cut ‘Em – Week 10
Nine weeks down. How does your team look? Maybe you’re sitting at 8-1 or 7-2 and coasting towards that championship. Or maybe you’re sitting at 3-6 and watching your playoff hopes slip through your fingers. Either way, you may have players on your bench and on the fringe of being cut. Read on before you either make the best move ever or the worst move ever.
Adam Thielen – Minnesota Vikings WR (2 receptions for 38 yards)
Embed from Getty ImagesYou obviously aren’t cutting Adam Thielen, whom you most likely drafted as your WR1 or perhaps your WR2, depending on how your draft played out. However, Thielen has only surpassed 100 yards twice this season and the last time he did that was in week four. This is Dalvin Cook‘s team and when he’s healthy, it will always be Cook’s team. Hang onto Thielen for now, but don’t expect top WR1 numbers as you may have been hoping for when drafting him back in August. Verdict: Keep ‘Em
Corey Davis – Tennessee Titans WR (3 targets; 0 receptions)
After seeing 20 targets over the past two weeks, fantasy owners were riding a high with Corey Davis moving into week nine. But with a healthy AJ Brown, it was only a matter of time before Davis slips into oblivion. I don’t see Davis maintaining that target share as we enter the crucial weeks before playoffs begin. Verdict: Cut ‘Em
James Conner – Pittsburgh Steelers RB (9 carries for 22 yards; 2 receptions for -2 yards)
Embed from Getty ImagesThis was supposed to be THE week for James Conner! The week where he explodes against one of the worst rush defenses in the league! But whoa buddy, it was just the opposite. Game script really affected Conner in this one and despite playing 46 percent of snaps versus Dallas, Conner did not live up to expectations this past week. But don’t let your emotions get in the way. Conner will bounce back and continue to be in the Steelers plans moving forward. It was one bad week. Forgive and try to forget! Verdict: Keep ‘Em
Jared Cook – New Orleans Saints TE (2 receptions for 30 yards)
So far this season, Jared Cook is on pace to finish with 42 receptions for 558 yards and 8 TDs. Cook had a quiet night but keep in mind that the Saints were leading the Bucs 31-0 at halftime. There wasn’t much of a need to target Cook for the rest of the game! With Michael Thomas returning from injury, I expect targets to drop a tad, but that wouldn’t keep me from dropping him from my roster. Verdict: Keep ‘Em
Randall Cobb – Houston Texans WR (3 receptions for 21 yards)
Embed from Getty ImagesIf you’re rolling out Cobb on a weekly basis as your starting WR, then maybe we need to talk further about your fantasy football struggles. No but seriously, Cobb has his moments. He has 2 TDs on the season, but hasn’t cleared 100 yards yet this season and is much more likely to provide you a boom or bust outcome each week. You can safely drop him for someone else. Verdict: Cut ‘Em
Robert Tonyan – Green Bay Packers TE (1 reception for 5 yards)

Aaron Rodgers is on an absolute tear this season. MVP anyone? Robert Tonyan stormed into the fantasy season after week four, when he had 6 receptions for 98 yards and 3 TDs. However, since then, Tonyan has 11 receptions for 141 yards and 0 TDs. Tonyan offers obvious upside being on the Packers and playing with a QB who is looking better than ever. However, Davante Adams will always steal targets and Allen Lazard is set to return from injury. I don’t see Robert Tonyan putting up enough numbers on a daily basis to feel good starting him every week. Verdict: Cut ‘Em
