Fantasy Football Week 12 Streamers: QB, TE and Team Defense

Before getting into Week 12’s streamers, here’s how Week 11’s streamers did (Yahoo! scoring, 0.5-point PPR).

Quarterback: Marcus Mariota-17.74 points
Tight End: Cole Kmet-5 points
Team Defense: Washington Commanders-19 points

There are no teams on a bye in Week 12, with Thanksgiving coming Thursday. Here are Week 12’s quarterback, tight end and team defense streamers.

Quarterback: Taylor Heinicke, Washington Commanders vs. Atlanta Falcons

Heinicke didn’t light it up against the Houston Texans in Week 11, but a big lead for the Commanders rendered the passing game irrelevant. He has totaled a little more than 14 fantasy points over the last two weeks, but he had multiple passing touchdowns in two of three games before that and his Week 12 matchup is impossibe to ignore.

The Atlanta Falcons are allowing the eighth-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season (19.7 per game, Yahoo! scoring). They’ve been better from a pure passing yardage standpoint lately, but that was against P.J. Walker and what has been revealed as a banged-up Justin Fields.

Heinicke won’t need a lot of pass attempts to burn the Falcons’ defense on Sunday, and he should add a little something with his legs too. If you need a streaming quarterback this week, the Commanders’ signal caller is in a nice spot.

Others To Consider: Marcus Mariota, Atlanta Falcons at Washington Commanders; Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Baltimore Ravens (check availability); Ryan Tannehill, Tennessee Titans vs. Cincinnati Bengals; Jimmy Garoppolo, San Francisco 49ers vs. New Orleans Saints (check availability); Jared Goff, Detroit Lions vs. Buffalo Bills (Thursday); Kenny Pickett, Pittsburgh Steelers at Indianapolis Colts (Monday night)

Tight End: Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints at San Francisco 49ers

Johnson had three catches for 47 yards and a touchdown against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 11. He has scored in three straight games, and in four of his last five (five total touchdowns). Going back further, he has scored and/or topped 40 yards in five of his last six games.

Week 12 brings a tough matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, who are allowing the sixth-fewest fantasy points per game to tight ends this season (7.1 per game, Yahoo!, 0.5-point PPR). Of the 43 receptions they’ve allowed the position, 16 came to Tyler Higbee (10 in Week 4) and Travis Kelce (six in Week 7), and both touchdowns they’ve allowed to tight ends this season came in one game (Atlanta Falcons in Week 6).

All of that said about the matchup, Johnson has been operating below the radar despite tight end being so bad for fantasy options. He’s significantly touchdown-dependent if he’s going to hit his ceiling each week, but I see a path to double-digit PPR points here without a touchdown this week.

Others To Consider: Logan Thomas, Washington Commanders vs. Atlanta Falcons; Evan Engram, Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Baltimore Ravens; Foster Moreau, Las Vegas Raiders at Seattle Seahawks; Hayden Hurst, Cincinnati Bengals at Tennessee Titans; Trey McBride, Arizona Cardinals vs. Los Angeles Chargers; Austin Hooper, Tennessee Titans vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Team Defense: Miami Dolphins vs. Houston Texans

In Week 10, I went with the Giants as my streaming defense against the Texans. Week 11, I went with the Commanders going against the Texans. In Week 12, I’m making it three in a row with the Dolphins.

Houston has scored 17 or less points in four straight games. Over that span, Davis Mills has been sacked 15 times while throwing a total of six interceptions. Now, there is a report Mills may be benched in favor or Kyle Allen. So a very favorable situation for Miami’s defense could get a little better if Allen is starting on Sunday.

The Dolphins’ defense has struggled to generate takeaways this season, with three of their four interceptions coming in one game. But they have multiple sacks in five of their last six games. Combined that with a virtual certainty they won’t allow many points, and it’s the recipe for Week 12’s top streaming defense.
