Fantasy Football Week 4 Streamers: QB, TE, Team Defense

Before diving into Week 4, here’s a review of how Week 3’s streamers did (Yahoo! scoring, 0.5-point PPR).

Quarterback: Daniel Jones-16.54 points
Tight End: Jack Doyle-1.5 points
Team Defense: Carolina Panthers-8 points

Moving on to Week 4, here are my quarterback, tight end and team defense streamers for the week.

Quarterback: Sam Darnold, Carolina Panthers at Dallas Cowboys

Darnold had another good outing in Week 3 against the Houston Texans, completing 23 of 34 passes for 304 yards with two rushing touchdowns. He has thrown for over 300 yards in back-to-back games, and he has accounted for multiple touchdowns in all thre games this season. Losing Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) for multiple weeks hurts, but Darnold has another nice matchup in Week 4.

The Dallas Cowboys have intercepted two passes in all three of their games this season, including a pick-six by Trevon Diggs in Week 3. But they have allowed the ninth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks through three weeks (Yahoo! scoring), and over 320 passing yards in all three.

Darnold has not yet reached 40 pass attempts in a game this season. It feels like he’ll get there in Week 4, as the Panthers have to air it more in what could be a high-scoring game.

Others To Consider: Derek Carr, Las Vegas Raiders at Los Angeles Chargers (Monday night); Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings vs. Cleveland Browns (check availability); Justin Fields, Chicago Bears vs. Detroit Lions (if he starts); Daniel Jones, New York Giants at New Orleans Saints; Jimmy Garoppolo, San Francisco 49ers vs. Seattle Seahawks; Taylor Heinicke, Washington Football Team at Atlanta Falcons; Jared Goff, Detroit Lions at Chicago Bears

Tight End: Dawson Knox, Buffalo Bills vs. Houston Texans

In Week 3 against the Washington Football Team, Knox had four catches (one five targets) for 49 yards and a touchdown. He has scored in back-to-back games, and he has four catches and over 40 yards in two of three games this season. Dating back to Week 12 last season (including playoffs), he has scored in seven of his last 12 games and four of the last six.

In Week 4 Knox gets a nice matchup against the Houston Texans, who have allowed 21 receptions (tied for second-most) and the fourth-most fantasy points to tight ends through three weeks (Yahoo! 0.5-point PPR). The Bills’ offense is in line for another good game, and Knox will get a piece of the pie again.

Knox is down the pecking order for targets in Buffalo’s offense, and the prospect of a big lead on Sunday is definitely there to limit pass attempts late in the game. But a baseline of 3-5 catches for 40-50 yards with a solid chance at a touchdown makes the Bills’ tight end my top fantasy streamer at the position for Week 4.

Others To Consider: Mike Gesicki, Miami Dolphins vs. Indianapolis Colts (check availability); Tyler Conklin, Minnesota Vikings vs. Cleveland Browns; Evan Engram, New York Giants at New Orleans Saints; Jared Cook, Los Angeles Chargers vs. Las Vegas Raiders (Monday night); Austin Hooper, Cleveland Browns at Minnesota Vikings; Dan Arnold, Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Cincinnati Bengals (Thursday night)

Team Defense: Cincinnati Bengals vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (Thursday night)

In Week 3 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Bengals sacked Ben Roethlisberger four times with two interceptions while allowing 10 points. They have 10 sacks this season (at least three in every game), while allowing a total of 24 points with three interceptions over their last two games.

In Week 4, the Cincinnati defense gets a good matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jaguars rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence has thrown seven interceptions in three games, joining some select (and Hall of Fame in a couple cases) company in throwing multiple picks in his first three career games. In Week 3 against the Cardinals, he took three sacks and lost two fumbles as well. It’s not all on Lawrence, but his struggles are the most outward showing of a bad offense and it’s not a stretch to say he’s trying to compensate for the shortcomings all around him.

The Bengals’ defense will have to show they can keep it up against better offenses down the road. But their Week 4 matchup is too good to ignore, even if they’re not playing the Jets.
