Fantasy Football Week 6 Streamers: QB, TE, Team Defense
Before the unveiling of Week 6’s streamers, here are Week 5’s results (Yahoo! scoring, 0.5-point PPR).
Quarterback: Justin Herbert-27.36 points
Tight End: Mo Alie-Cox-0 points
Team Defense: Dallas Cowboys-9 points
Note: As I write this Tuesday morning, the Tennessee Titans and Buffalo Bills will complete Week 5 Tuesday night. That said, the broad context of rankings against a position for Week 6 won’t change much (if at all) for this week’s streamers.
Here are my quarterback, tight end and team defense streamers for Week 6. The New Orleans Saints, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers and Seattle Seahawks are idle this week.
Quarterback: Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings vs. Atlanta Falcons
Cousins topped 30 pass attempts for the first time this season in Week 5 against the Seattle Seahawks, completing 27 of 39 for 249 yards with two touchdowns, an interception and a lost fumble. He has multiple passing touchdowns in two of his last three games (and in three of five games this season), going into a Week 6 matchup that can’t be ignored.
Combined Nick Foles and Mitchell Trubisky in Week 3, and the Atlanta Falcons have allowed more than 310 passing yards in all five of their games this season. They are allowing the most fantasy points to quarterbacks by a solid margin, including 15 passing touchdowns (tied for the most) and the second-most passing yards (345.6 yards per game).
Cousins didn’t fully exploit a good matchup in Week 5. But he gets another shot in Week 6, in an even better matchup at home against the reeling Falcons.

Others To Consider: Gardner Minshew, Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Detroit Lions; Ryan Fitzpatrick, Miami Dolphins vs. New York Jets; Andy Dalton, Dallas Cowboys vs. Arizona Cardinals (Monday night); Nick Foles, Chicago Bears at Carolina Panthers; Teddy Bridgewater, Carolina Panthers vs. Chicago Bears; Daniel Jones, New York Giants vs. Washington
Tight End: Eric Ebron, Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cleveland Browns
Ebron posted a pretty uninteresting stat line in Week 5 against the Philadelphia Eagles, but he was second on the team in targets (six) on his way to five catches for 43 yards (with a fumble lost). He has at least five targets and over 40 yards in three straight games. Week 6 brings a good matchup.

Even a relatively strong effort against the Colts in Week 5, the Cleveland Browns are still a bottom-10 fantasy defense against tight ends with an even 10 targets per game allowed to the position. If the Steelers are without wide receiver Diontae Johnson (back) on Sunday, Ebron would be in line for solid work.
With his bye behind him, Ebron is a solid waiver wire add. For Week 6, he gets the narrow edge as my top tight end streamer.

Others To Consider: Gerald Everett, Los Angeles Rams at San Francisco 49ers (Sunday night); Robert Tonyan, Green Bay Packers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (check ownership); Cameron Brate, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Green Bay Packers; Irv Smith Jr., Minnesota Vikings vs. Atlanta Falcons
Team Defense: Miami Dolphins vs. New York Jets
The Dolphins flat-out dominated the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5, with the defense (17 points allowed, five sacks, three takeaways) getting in on the fun. They have allowed less than 20 points in two of their last three games, and the schedule shift for Week 6 has put them in a prime spot.
The New York Jets have scored 17 or less points in four of five games this season, and quarterback Sam Darnold (right shoulder) may be out again this week. If that’s the case, Joe Flacco would get a second straight start. The return of running back Le’Veon Bell in Week 5 was notable, but in the big picture of Adam Gase’s offense (whether he continues to call plays or not) it doesn’t matter much.
The Dolphins defense is strictly a streamer in weeks with a good-looking matchup. Their Week 6 matchup is as good as it gets, as targeting the Jets’ offense continues to be a theme here.
