Four Down Territory: Big Blue Babbies

First Down

Never, in all my years on this earth, has a week 17 game made so many headlines for the wrong reasons.

On Sunday night the Eagles pulled Jalen Hurts for Nate Sudfeld in the fourth quarter. The game was close and the decision seemed questionable.

Giants fans, players, beat writers, and national media members started questioning Doug Pederson’s decision to bench Hurts and his integrity.

Oh yeah, if the Eagles had won the Giants would backed their way into the playoffs.

Giants head coach Joe Judge took it a step further on Monday and blasted the Eagles and Pederson about integrity and all that other coach speak foolishness.

Question; was it disrespectful to the game when Judge was staffed by a team that got caught cheating not once but TWICE?!

Just asking.

This notion that week 17 is some sacred arena where teams that have nothing to play for should push it to the limit is Pop-Warner and needs to stay there. The game was on primetime, that’s the only reason this is a story.

Doug and the Eagles had signaled all week that they weren’t going to go all out on Sunday night.

If the Eagles had a chance at the postseason you can gurantee that most of those names would have been active.

Doug also tipped his hand throughout the week of their intentions.

This isn’t the first time a team has lost for better draft positioniong.

Hello, 2014 Bucs.

Here’s a crazy idea; if you want to get into the playoffs WIN MORE GAMES!!!

A quick recap of the Giants season.

They started 0-7.

Before Sunday they were on a three game losing streak in which they only scored two touchdowns.

Daniel Jones fumbled the ball ten times, losing six of them. He threw 11 touchdowns and ten interceptions.

They ranked 31st in the league in points.

The Giants were a bad team; that’s all there is to it.

If they want to throw a temper tantrum then aim it at your “pro-bowl” tight end that dropped the game winner against Philadelphia earlier this year.

Just to reiterate the tweet: IF HE MAKES THAT CATCH THE GIANTS AREN’T CRYING ON TWITTER!

It’s understandable, though. When your franchise has been a laughing stock for almost ten years even the taste of the playoffs can drive you mad.

The Saints used to wear the crown of most whiny NFL fans but the Giants took that with force in one night.

Be proud, at least you won something.
