MOCK DRAFT SZN 2.0
The regular season is over and we know the draft order of all non-playoff teams. This draft covers the top 15 and WE’RE DOING TRADES BABY!
Rd 1. Pick 1.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Trevor Lawrence, QB Clemson.
Nothing to see here.
Rd 1. Pick 2.
New York Jets: Justin Fields, QB Ohio State
This pick was interesting until Fields beat the breaks off Clemson. The Jets won’t committ to Darnold because they have eyes on Fields.
Rd 1. Pick 3.
TRADE!
Detroit Lions: Zach Wilson, QB BYU

The Lions know Atlanta is in the QB market and is spooked enough to jump in front of them to grab QB3. Miami is going to charge an arm and a leg for this spot but if Detroit wants to guarantee their future QB then they gotta pay the price.
Rd 1. Pick 4.
Atlanta Falcons: Micah Parsons, LB Penn State
The Falcons will be tempted to draft Sewell but Jake Matthews dead cap hit is $18 million for 2021. Atlanta drafts the next best player on the board. They could trade this pick the but only real suitor is another QB thirsty team. The only one that’s close enough is Carolina, a division rival. That ain’t happening.
Rd 1. Pick 5.
Cincinnati Bengals: Penei Sewell, OT Oregon
The Bengals LOL at the Falcons and grab their LT for the next decade.
Rd 1. Pick 6.
Philadelphia Eagles: Ja’Marr Chase, WR LSU
The Sunday Night tank pays off with the best WR in the class. It’ll be hard for Howie Roseman to screw this up.
Rd 1. Pick 7
Miami Dolphins: DeVonta Smith, WR Alabama
Trade back AND get a Heisman winner? The Dolphins hook Tua up with an old friend and this draft has the potential to be franchise-altering for a team on the rise. Thanks, Houston.
Rd 1. Pick 8.
Carolina Panthers: Trey Lance, QB North Dakota State
Four QBs taken in the top ten? The potential is there. Teddy Bridgewater will be a mentor to Trey as he transistions to the speed of the league.
Rd 1. Pick 9.
Denver Broncos: Patrick Surtain II, CB Alabama
With all the top QBs gone (it’d be a stretch to think they’d draft one anyway) Denver grabs the best corner. Von and Bradley can’t pressure the QB with a leaky secondary.
Rd 1. Pick 10.
Dallas Cowboys: Caleb Farley, CB Virginia Tech
The Cowboys have one of the worst defenses in the league, if not ever. Caleb can start a defensive rebuild that will probably come under a new defensive coordinator.
Rd 1. Pick 11.
New York Giants: Gregory Rousseau, EDGE Miami
The Giants defense is trending up and keeping that trend going is paramount to getting over the six win hump.
Rd 1. Pick 12.
San Francisco 49ers: Rashawn Slater, OT Northwestern
Trent Williams is a free agent and is going to demand A LOT of money, as he should. The 49ers will have some cap space but may need to keep it for an incoming vet from Detroit to lead their offense.
Rd 1. Pick 13.
Los Angeles Chargers: Christian Darrisaw, OT Virginia Tech
Protect Herbert, that’s all the Charges need to worry about.
Rd 1. Pick 14.
Minnesota Vikings: Wyatt Davis, Guard Ohio State
The Vikings need help on the interior line. Davis is the best guard in the draft. It works.
Rd 1. Pick 15.
New England Patriots: Kyle Pitts, TE Florida
How does this happen? The Patriots snag the best TE in the draft in the middle of the first round. Pitts can line up anywhere and will be a mismatch nightmare.
