Four Down Territory: So About Preseason…

Third Down

After week two there are eleven teams that are 0-2. Naturally that means it’s time to panic and fans are already looking for the new up-and-coming coach to turn their teams around.

But who should be concered?

Let’s rank coaches on the hottest of seats.

Seat 1: Reddy Ice

  • Brian Flores, Miami Dolphins: Year two of a rebuild and just drafted a quarterback. He has AT LEAST three years before questions are raised.
  • Zac Taylor, Cincinnati Bengals: See Brian Flores
  • Matt Rhule, Carolina Panthers: See Brian Flores and Zac Taylor but it’s year one without a franchise quarterback. He has five years of wiggle room.

Seat 2: Medium Rare Steak Over Hot Coals

  • Bill O’Brien, Houston Texans: and 0-2 start to the Chiefs and Ravens isn’t anything to be ashamed about. Trading Clowney and Hopkins without getting a first round pick is.
  • Doug Pederson: Philadelphia Eagles: The Super Bowl win in 2017 is losing its shine. The offense is a mess and a reported power struggle with Wentz isn’t doing him any favors.
  • Vic Fangio, Denver Broncos: Losing Drew Lock for a few weeks and Von Miller for the year might be enough to save his job.

Seat 3: Adam Schefter Has the Tweet in His Drafts

  • Adam Gase, New York Jets: Siri, show us what Gase’s tenure has been like since arriving in New York.
  • Dan Quinn, Atlanta Falcons: Seriously, what does he have on ownership? How was he allowed on the plane after that loss?
  • Matt Patricia, Detroit Lions: Man can’t even clean up for a press conference. We should’ve known then.
  • Mike Zimmer, Minnesota Vikings: Just feels like it’s time.
