Free NBA DFS Draftkings and FanDuel Lineup Help and Advice 12/17
Anyone who says Daily Fantasy isn’t gambling has never played a 3 game NBA slate before. Anything can happen in a 3 game slate! If 95% of people have Westbrook tonight and he gets injured, and there is one mentally unstable guy out there who faded him…he gets all the ? ? ?. (Credit Tykes.com for the images)
NBA Fantasy Fact of the Day: Carmelo Anthony’s 9 assists yesterday was the most he’s had in a game in 4 years.
Point Guards
Russell Westbrook- $10,300 @ CLE
His ownership will be 100% in cash games tonight and rightfully so. In only a three game slate you may as well light money on fire if you don’t play Westbrook. Even with Durant healthy this year, Westbrook still averages the most fantasy points/game of any player in the NBA. Vegas has the Cavs winning this game by only three points, so Westbrook should see 40 minutes on the court.
“The Sleeper Pick”- D’Angelo Russell
Shooting Guards
Dion Waiters- $4,000 @ CLE (Revenge Game Alert)
It only takes one or two sleepers to make an amazing lineup in a 3 game slate. Even with Durant back from injury, coach Billy Donovan has been giving Waiters extended minutes as of late. In his last four games he’s been playing 32 minutes/game. He is playing close to starters’ minutes and he will be playing them tonight in his old arena. Revenge games can be risky to target, but I think Waiters has a huge grudge against the Cavs for trying to trade him hundreds of times, so I think this revenge game means even more.
James Harden- $10,800 @LAL
In the new Adidas commercial Harden says, “Those who mind…Don’t matter” I think he is specifically talking about daily fantasy owners…I really like this pick not only because he is playing the Lakers, but because Dwight Howard requested a trade from the Rockets, which means Houston is 100% Harden’s team. Vegas has the O/U of this game at 214 combined points, which is highest on tonight’s slate by far. Harden is playing his best basketball of the season right now, averaging 32.4 PPG over his last 4 games and he is going up against the team dead last in defensive efficiency tonight.
DeMar DeRozan-$7,100 @ CHA

Check out DeRozan’s numbers over the last four games: 25 PPG, 5 RPG, 3.4 APG, and 1.5 steals/game. Much like Harden, DeRozan looks to be in mid-season form, he is a lock for 22 and 6 in the box score every single night. The Hornets are without Al Jefferson and the Valanciunas is suffering from a broken hand, so look for both teams’ guards to run the floor tonight. Vegas only has the O/U at 196 combined points, so DeRozan may be the only player to target in this match up.
“The Sleeper Pick”- Kobe Bryant
Small Forwards
LeBron James- $9,900 vs. OKC
Honestly, flip a coin when deciding whether to play KD or LBJ tonight. Anyone who watches the comedy, The League knows the term “rankings slave” defined as a fantasy owner who picks whichever player is ranked higher on projections lists. If anyone out there is a “rankings slave” Rotowire projects LeBron to score 51.3 points and predicts Durant only 45.7 points on Draftkings tonight. Durant is $200 more than LeBron and both of them average the EXACT number of DK points per game at 49/game, so go with the cheaper, more consistent option.
“The Sleeper Pick”- Marcus Thornton
Power Forwards
Serge Ibaka-$6,100 vs. CLE
Besides Kevin Love, not many options to choose from at the power forward spot tonight. Ibaka is quietly the 3rd option in the Thunder’s offense behind KD and Westbrook. The Thunder get very little offensive production out of their starters, Andre Roberson and Steven Adams, so Ibaka is asked to shoot mid range shots and even some 3s once in a while. The Thunder are the hottest team in the NBA right now and a big part of their success is because of Serge Ibaka, he is averaging 30.2 DK points/game over his last four games. Vegas predicts this game to play close, so Ibaka will see the floor most of the game.
“The Sleeper Pick”- Terrence Jones
Centers
Frank Kaminsky- $3,700 @ TOR
Frank the Tank!!! Kaminsky has been a pleasant surprise for the Hornets the last few weeks while Al Jefferson has been out. Over his last 5 games, Kaminsky hasn’t played less than 23 minutes and even played 32 against the Pistons. Al Jefferson is out for the next four games due to suspension, so Frank’s minutes should increase over the next few games. Frank is playing with confidence and has hit a 3 pointer in three straight games. Vegas predicts the Hornets to win by 2 points tonight, but I see the Raptors actually blowing them out and Kaminsky playing a lot of minutes in garbage time. In such a small slate, Kaminsky may be the perfect sleeper at only $3,700.
