Point Guards
John Wall $9,700 vs. ORL
Vegas projects the O/U of the ORL-WAS game at 205 combined points, which is the highest on the slate tonight. So, what is going on with Elfrid Payton? Is he OK? Elfrid Payton had just one assist on Wednesday and then sat out the entire second half with an illness. If Elfrid Payton isn’t 100% and feeling fatigued on defense, Wall is going to have an easy time getting to the rim and finding Gortat down low for assists. If Payton can’t go, Wall should feast on the likes of Shabazz Napier and Evan Fournier.
Aaron Brooks- $4,100 @ NY
Derrick Rose was a late scratch on Wednesday, and Aaron Brooks went nuts, racking up 38.75 points on DraftKings. Last game, Brooks was only $3,500, so his value was the 2nd best on the entire slate(Second, to Jerami Grant). If Rose is unable to go Brooks should have great value, as he is averaging 33.5 DK points/game over his last two games. If Rose is able to play, we suggest just paying up for Ish Smith.
“The Sleeper Pick”- J.J. Barea
Shooting Guards
DeMar DeRozan– $8,000 vs. CHA
What DeMar DeRozan has done over his last 10 games is pretty incredible. He flies under the radar playing for the Raptors, but DeRozan is probably going to start the all-star game at SG in his home stadium. Last game, DeRozan threw up 24 shot attempts. 24 shots is reaching Damian Lillard levels! DeRozan has been so consistent over his last 10 games, he’s averaging 43.4 DK points over that stretch. One more thing to note is that DeRozan plays much better at home, averaging more than 5 DK points better at home than he does on the road.
Victor Oladipo- $5,500 @ WAS
It has been a while since we have mentioned Oladipo’s name, but just look at his price! If Elfrid Payton can’t go tomorrow, Oladipo at $5,500 could have huge upside. Last year, Oladipo scored 18 PPG, 4.2 APG, and 4.1 RPG, those numbers are insane for a player priced at just $5,500 and we know Oladipo can stuff the stat sheet. Oladipo is just in a shooting slump right now and had to deal with a concussion earlier this year. He is bound to break out, gotta love his GPP upside at such a low price for a player of his caliber.
“The Sleeper Pick”- Garrett Temple
Small Forwards
Otto Porter Jr.- $5,500 vs. ORL
Bill Simmons interviewed Porter during his rookie year and asked him if he could compare his game to 1 current NBA player, who would it be? Porter’s answer: Kevin Durant…while he may not be KD just yet…over his last few games his shooting from the floor and from deep has been similar to KD’s. Porter has shot 62% from the his last two games and 60% from 3-point range. Wall has the Wizards running the 5th fastest NBA team in terms of pace, so Porter should have plenty of opportunities for points in a high scoring game in D.C.
“The Sleeper Pick”- Evan Fournier
Power Forwards
Bobby Portis- $3,900 vs. NY
With Joakim Noah Out, Taj Gibson and Bobby Portis have been asked to step in and both have played great in his absence. Coach Fred Hoiberg refuses to play Mirotic for some odd reason, so Portis and Gibson have picked up extra minutes for the Bulls. You could make the case for Taj Gibson, but Portis is $1,700 cheaper tonight and has more upside potential. Taj Gibson may struggle against Porzingas and Portis will be matching up with New York’s back ups, and he can do damage in a short period of time.
Nerlens Noel-$6,300 @ LAL
Out of the Sixers “Big 3” big men(Noel, Embiid, Okafor) Noel is by far the one I would keep if I am in Sam Hinkie’s shoes, in fact it’s not even close. There have been trade rumors surrounding Noel this season(Bucks, Lakers) and Noel has impressed his last few games, maybe as a way to try and get out of Philly! Noel is averaging 39 DK points/game in only 29 minutes/game on the floor! Noel is taking on a Laker’s team that cannot play defense at virtually every position. I’m all on in Noel tonight.
“The Sleeper Pick”- Andrew Nicholson
Centers
Marcin Gortat- $6,900 vs. ORL (Revenge Game)
Nikola Vucevic just allowed Brook Lopez to drop 65 DK points against him just two nights ago. Vucevic’s defense is a work in progress that’s for sure, and Marcin Gortat is playing his former team. With Payton suffering from an illness, Wall to Gortat will be the go-to combo tonight in a high scoring game. Gortat is going to be a nightmare for Vucevic to cover inside, and he should Wall should look his way most of the night with Bradley Beal out.
“The Sleeper Pick”- Zaza Pachulia
