Free NFL DFS FanDuel Lineup For Week 7, Thursday 10/22
Every week during the NFL season I’ll be publishing my cash game line up for FanDuel and the rationale behind all my selections. Last week my cash line up went over 150 points, so I’m hoping for similar success this week.
Again, this is my cash game line-up, and while I always put it in a few GPPs, there are other players at a couple of positions better suited for tournaments.
Finally, this is my Thursday night cash LU. I’m not using any of the players from the Thursday night game, but I might change some players out for the Sunday slate based on late breaking news or injury issues. If I do, I’ll let you know.
QB Ryan Fitzpatrick ($7,100) To be perfectly honest I would rather use Landry Jones here, but with Ben Roethlisberger‘s status up in the air, it’s simply too dangerous a play for the Thursday slate. Fitzpatrick, who is leading a resurgent Jets offense and is averaging 18.1 fantasy points a game, is much safer. The Patriots defense is giving up 20.76 points per game and with the Jets big underdogs, game flow and the potential for garbage time points favor the Jets QB.
RB Devonte Freeman ($8,700) Cash games are all about taking the safest selections and over the last four weeks Freeman has been about as safe as you can get. If fact his lowest point total in that span is 29.2! He faces a Titans defense that is giving up nearly 130 yards per game on the ground and is ranked 28th by Football Outsiders versus the run. Freeman is expensive, but with his recent success, a plus match up and positive game flow potential (the Falcons are 3 1/2 point favorites) should be well worth it.
RB Latavius Murray ($7,000) Murray looks to be quite a bargain in this game. He’s the unquestioned lead back in Oakland and is also heavily involved in the passing game. His stat line may not be overly impressive, but he’s faced some tough run defenses this season. Sunday he gets a break against a Chargers defense that’s allowing nearly 30 FanDuel points a game versus the running back position, and was torched by James Starks for 112 yards on only ten carries last week.
WR DeAndre Hopkins ($9,200) Much like Devonte Freeman at running back, Hopkins has been an absolute beast this season and is the safest option at his position. He’s been targeted an amazing 90 times this season, 15 more than anyone else and has produces a 52/726/5 split, good for 21.8 fantasy points per game.Miami is giving up nearly 32 points per game to opposing WRs and the Texans are 4 point underdogs. It all sets up well for Hopkins Sunday.
WR Steve Smith Sr ($6,900) Smith is averaging 17.4 fantasy points per game (including a game in which he was injured and missed the second half), has received 57 targets in five games, is obviously the only receiver Joe Flacco trusts, yet is priced at under $7,000 on FanDuel. Meanwhile, the Ravens are a touchdown underdog to the Cardinals on Monday Night Football, so Smith also has game flow in his favor. Thank you FanDuel.
WR Stefon Diggs ($5,800) OK, work with me on this one. In the last two games Diggs has emerged as the Vikings most reliable receiver. In that span, Diggs has 19 targets, which he translated into 13 receptions and 216 yards. On Sunday he faces a Lions defense that’s giving up 33.20 fantasy points a game to WRs and is ranked 23rd against the pass.
TE Travis Kelce ($6,000) The NFL season is often a game of attrition and that pretty much where the Chiefs are right now. Jamaal Charles is on the IR and Jeremy Maclin is concussed, leaving Kelce as the only reliable weapon left standing. Add to the fact the Steelers are one of the worst teams in the NFL defending the position (15.67 FanDuel points per game against TEs) and the Chiefs are underdogs, Kelce makes for a very safe play Sunday.
K Josh Brown ($4,700) When it comes to kickers I have four blocks that I try to check: high over/under, favored to win, kicking at home and kicking in a dome. Brown will be kicking outside, but he checks the other block for a team that can move the ball, but sometimes has trouble getting into the endzone.
D StLouis Rams ($4,500) The Browns offense hasn’t been terrible this season, but they take to the road in this game to face a Rams defense that has been much better at home than on the road. The Browns have had trouble running and Josh McCown always has the possibility of becoming a turnover machine when forced to throw a lot, especially on the road.
