Caleb Williams- USC

Career Stats: 6449 pass yds 63 tds 9 ints | 1018 rush yds 16 rush tds

Pros

Williams is a dynamic playmaker who can beat defenses with his arm and his legs. He has a strong arm, good accuracy, and the ability to make plays on the run. He is also a dangerous runner, with good speed and agility.

Williams started 12 games for Oklahoma in 2021, throwing for 1,912 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions. He also rushed for 442 yards and 6 touchdowns. In 2022, he started all 13 games for USC, throwing for 4,537 yards, 42 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions. He also rushed for 576 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Williams has also shown the ability to succeed in two of the top conferences in college football. He followed his coach from Oklahoma to USC, where he believed he had a better chance to improve his NFL stock.

His leadership is top-notch, and he is a positive influence in a locker room.

Cons

Williams can be turnover-prone sometimes, and he needs to improve his decision-making. He can also be inconsistent with his accuracy.

Williams has been criticized for being “soft” and not having the mental build to be an NFL player. This is something I see as noise. Last year, there was similar noise around C.J. Stroud and his test scores which cost him in the NFL draft and Fantasy Drafts alike.

Summary

Williams was the #1 overall recruit in all of college football, choosing Oklahoma and Coach Lincoln Riley, following his coach to USC after his freshmen year.

He has shown great skill and leadership on the field, helping his team to achieve success. He has also been praised for his work ethic and dedication to the sport. Additionally, Caleb is known for his positive attitude and supportive nature, both on and off the field.

There is noise about his mental composition but as we have seen in the past, I believe that is noise to be ignored. He can be inaccurate

Strengths

  • He is a proven winner and a positive influence on and off the field.
  • A dynamic player with a big arm.
  • A solid runner with good speed.
  • He’s a leader on and off the field

Concerns

  • He lands on a team where he is rushed into bad decision throws that hurt his self-confidence.
  • He is considered mentally and emotionally weak by some.

2024 Dynasty Rookie Draft Projection: Superflex: 1.01/Single QB: Late 1st

Ideal Role: Starting QB of a team that can use him correctly, with a coach that knows how to “white glove” him when things aren’t going well.
