Last Call Week 11 Start Sit or Just Forget
Well, here we are, and let’s just start with a fun fact about Week 10. Despite the two quarterbacks who coming into Week 10 led the league in interceptions being on their bye week, Geno Smith and Jordan Love (with 10 interceptions), in the 14 games that were played there were 26 interceptions recorded ( Will Levis had zero interceptions). The fun fact is that 65.38% of those 26 interceptions happened in three of the 14 games!
The Bills at Indianapolis and Minnesota at Jacksonville accounted for 10 of the interceptions, Josh Allen and Mac Jones each tossed two while Joe Flacco and Sam Darnold threw in three each, which by the way welcomes Darnold to the “most interceptions thrown by a quarterback so far this season club”, this is me seriously regretting the choices I made last week.
And then there was the Sunday Night Football game that gave us seven interceptions with C.J. Stroud giving us two and Jared Goff generously tossing in five interceptions in a game the Detroit Lions won 26-23 on Jake Bates’s 52-yard field goal as time expired. WTF!!!
So much for that feel-good moment, and in honor of Week 10 and realizing that adulting is hard, the drink this week is the “WTF Just Happened” drink (it’s a thing)! There are several different variations of this drink (as is the case with most drinks) but for this week we will go with the recipe from the bargpt.app recipe, enjoy!

And let’s make the call for this week’s premium, well and mat plays.
Premium Play, Quarterback, Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers
Okay, so last week’s premium play aka George Kittle finished as TE6 which is okay but not exactly a premium play, more like ordering Johnny Walker Blue with a mixer, it’s a watered-down premium that you never want to do, but will take.
Anyway, back to the man of the day, Herbert whom we all thought would disappear behind the run game, and did for a minute, but the Herbert we know and adore has made a couple of appearances, not particularly last week against the Tennessee Titans where he only attempted 18 passes, but did throw in one passing touchdown and one rushing touchdown. Let’s be honest he really didn’t have to do much against the Titans, and he still finished as QB8 with 19.8 fantasy points.
This week should be a little different as the Chargers will host the Cincinnati Bengals in the Sunday night game. The Bengals when last seen were putting up 34 points in a losing effort to the Lamar Jackson-led Baltimore Ravens. In that game, Joe Burrow threw for 428 yards and four touchdowns, three of which went to Ja’Marr Chase on his way to 264 receiving yards.
The Browns’ defense allowed Jackson to pass for 290 yards, and four touchdowns on 33 passing attempts, while holding Derrick Henry to 4.3 yards per attempt. Wide receiver Tylan Wallace (echoing vintage Marcus Grant and Adam Rank ‘that helps no one!’) pulled a Marquez Valdes-Scantling, leading the Ravens in receiving yards (115), with one touchdown on three targets and three receptions.
The line for this game is tied for the second-highest of the week 47.5 and the Chargers are just a 1.5-point favorite at home.
This is the point where the talent and the opposition equal premium stats.
Well Play, Jameis Winston, Quarterback, Cleveland Browns
It is time to put on your big girl (and boy) panties and contemplate whether you want to take that shot. Like any time nearing the end of your bar visit, it is the last call you have to weigh your options: on the one hand, we have good Winston, who in his first start with the Browns, finished as QB8 with 27-of-41, 334 yards, three touchdowns, and 115.3 QBR; and then there is the not so great Winston, who in his second start, finished as QB26 with 26-of-46, 235 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions.
That’s expected, right? According to Sharp Analysis, in his two games, Winston has six turnover-worthy plays with three interceptions (the most for the two weeks). On a positive note, the Browns are allowing him to chuck it as he has 41 and 46 pass attempts.
Now some will try and sell you on the “revenge game” narrative for Winston as he was replaced by Derek Carr, but doesn’t that work both ways? I mean if Winston is the one who was spurned then his ex (aka the New Orleans’ defense minus Marcus Lattimore) knows all his moves.
In addition interim head coach Darren Rizzi has the team playing pretty well. In their last week’s surprise win against the Atlanta Falcons, the defense pressured quarterback Kirk Cousins 50% of the time. That is 29% more than they pressured pre-Rizzi.
Cousins did finish with 306 passing yards against the Saints’ defense on 38 attempts with zero passing touchdowns and one interception. But this is Winston’s world where multiple touchdown passes can co-exist with multiple interceptions.
It’s like choosing a bourbon for your old fashion instead of a rye, both are valid choices, one is the better choice, and you will be judged. But we all live with the choices we make.
Mat Play or Just Don’t Do It, Will Levis, Quarterback, Tennessee Titans
Levis had himself a week last week with a career-high 78.2% completion percentage on 23 attempts and two passing touchdowns. As mentioned earlier, he did not throw an interception. He was also sacked seven times.
You might be tempted to chase those feel-good moments, especially with Kyler Murray, Baker Mayfield, and >ahem< Daniel Jones on their bye week.
Just keep in mind, that this week he will face Brian Flores’ Minnesota Vikings defense that had Brock Purdy in multiple states of confusion.
Yeah, I’m not betting on Levis in this game.
