Mets Worried About Wright’s Injury
New York Mets third baseman David Wright is worried about his herniated disc in his neck. The injury may cause him to be placed on the DL, and miss a lot of game time, which is a huge deal to the Mets. It is unlikely for him to be playing anytime soon, and this could become a large issue for them.
Wright is scheduled to see a doctor on Tuesday to further investigate his current injury, and to see what actions need to be taken in order to be back in the lineup. Manager Collins is also worried, and will decide after the appointment whether or not Wright will be put on the disabled list.
David Wright has been known to play with minor discomfort before, but unfortunately, this may be too painful to proceed. He has tried to play, but he clearly shows to be in pain on the field, and further actions need to be taken.
Wright was given anti-inflammatory medicine, but it only showed slight improvements. He will be evaluated again on Tuesday to see how effective the medicine has actually been. The Mets already have a few injuries to key players (including first basemen Lucas Duda), and do not need Wright to be injured.
