MLB DFS DraftKings GPP Lineup Advice: 8/15/18

We have another split-slate on Wednesday, with four games playing during the day and 10-games scheduled later on, which we will cover.
The main-slate on DraftKings is a good one. There are plenty of pitching options to look at, all in different pricing tiers. Let’s take a look at some of the best GPP options this evening.

Pitchers

Nathan Eovaldi (BOS): $9,300 @ PHI
Gerrit Cole and Zack Wheeler are the only pitchers priced higher than Eovaldi and are certainly viable pitchers who should pitch good games. For GPP game theory though, the Red Sox starter is my favorite. After getting blown up against an easy Orioles team, along with viable pivots, most people should be off him. Before his last start, Eovaldi threw 15 scoreless innings in his first two starts with the Red Sox. He has been close to elite all season long and simply got unlucky in his last outing. Tonight, he will face the Philidelphia Phillies who are striking out at a 25.1% clip which is third highest in the MLB. The Phillies have some scary bats in the lineup, but also a lot of strikeouts. Traveling to the National League, Eovaldi will see a team without a DH, adding another strikeout or two to his outing.

Tyler Anderson (COL): $8,400 @ HOU
The Astros are clearly a different team without their all-stars in the lineup. On a five-game losing streak, finding a lot of offense has been difficult lately. Outside of one 14-run game in their last 10, the Astros have averaged just 2.6 runs per game. Conversely, Tyler Anderson is having a fantastic season. With a 6-4 record, Anderson has an above average strikeout rate with a high GB% and an 11.6% swinging strike rate. Outside of Coors Field, the Rockies starter will get a massive park upgrade in a better matchup than most think. Once again, at his price, there are other pivots in better matchups and with a better track record. The ownership will be much lower than the likes of Kevin Gausman and Shane Bieber, who have similar upside.

Dylan Bundy (BAL): $6,500 vs. NYM
The Orioles starter has had a roller coaster season. He has shown close to 50 DraftKings point upside, along with a -18.2 downside. Tonight, he is simply mispriced at $6,500. 20 DraftKings points will get him to a 3X value which he should easily accomplish. Unlike his last start against the Red Sox, the Orioles will face a weak New York Mets team. Bundy has really nasty stuff and should get a ton of strikeouts tonight. With a 12.5% SwSt rate, he also owns a 9.4 K/9. If he can keep the walks down to a minimum and keep the ball in the park, Bundy could have another ceiling game at a very affordable price.

Robbie Erlin (SD): $4,900 vs. LAA
The Padres starter is the least expensive pitcher on the board tonight and is worth a look in order to fit in the high priced hitters. In 31 appearances of the 2018 season, Erlin has posted a 3.22 SIERA. He owns a 0.99 WHIP and a 21.4% K rate. What is more intriguing is the matchup. The LA Angels are not the same team without Mike Trout. Considering they are playing in the National League, they also lose their DH, Shoei Ohtani, who has been their second best hitter this season. Against southpaws, the Angels have just a .293 OBP and 84 wRC+.

Hitting Stacks

Cleveland Indians
They are tough to fade right now. Especially Jose Ramirez who is making his case for the American League MVP. Scoring 28 DraftKings points in each of his last two games, Ramirez is white hot. The All-star corner infielder is expensive to pay up for but is tough to fade when he comes in at 20% owned each night.

Atlanta Braves
The Braves scored 10 runs last night, where Ronald Acuna hit two home runs. Still leading the National League East, the Braves are showing everyone that their offense is for real. With the highest implied run total of the evening at 5.30, the Braves will not go overlooked. They are expensive, but there are plenty of inexpensive pitchers starting tonight allowing us to pay up.

New York Yankees
The Yankees will host the Tampa Bay Rays tonight as Jake Faria is the expected starter. Faria is a talented young pitcher who has great stuff but will be in tough this evening. Faria has one of the best change-ups in the game, already. However, this will be his first start since May. He has made a couple of relief appearances where he threw 3 innings in each game against the Jays and Angels. I like the Yankees to put up a ton of home runs tonight against the reverse splits pitcher.
