MLB DFS DraftKings Lineup Advice 5/10

DFS MLB Draftkings Fanduel lineup advice 4/11

For followers of my DFS articles, I always prefer to use an image of my “pitcher of the day”. As you can tell, I went with Trevor Story, as no true “aces” are available to pick from. In addition, only six games are on the slate.

Pitchers-Top Tier

Mahle(Reds) $9400 @ Pirates although his 1-1 record would not indicate it, Mahle has been solid this season(3.23 ERA/1.11 WHIP/ 18.6 FPTS/game). He will be my top choice.

Gibson(Rangers) $8600 @ Giants 3-0 record averaging 18.1 FPTS(2.40 ERA/1.04 WHIP)

Others I like:

Wood(Giants) $9800 vs Rangers 3-0 with a 1.96 ERA/0.78 WHIP.

This is one of the most unusual pitching slates. Out of the 12 starting pitchers, three typically pitch out of the bullpen. Along with the bullpen pitchers being utilized, Jose Suarez(Angels-$5600), is making his season debut and four others have ERA’s greater than 5.76.

Hitters:

While I wish fantasy managers had more of an opportunity, than usual, to load up on hitters, DraftKings did another outstanding job pricing their pitchers.

Catchers:

Barnhart(Reds) $3500 @ Pirates averaging 6.6 FPTS/game, Tucker has 3 HR’s and 11 RBI’s on the season.

Vazquez(Red Sox) $4300 @ Orioles has scored at least five FPTS in each of the last six games.

First Base:

Lowe(Rangers) $3900 @ Giants .287 BA/7 HR/25 RBI’s

Walsh(Angels) $4200 @Astros .324 BA/6 HR/25 RBI’s

Second Base:

Senzel(Reds) $3100 @ Pirates although Senzel’s stat line(1 HR/6 RBI’s) is not great, fantasy managers should notice his newly found dual position availability.

Solak(Rangers) $4200 @ Giants .277 BA/7 HR/17 RBI’s

Shortstop:

Bogaerts(Red Sox) $5400 @ Orioles .349 BA/7 HR/20 RBI’s

Story(Rockies) $5800 vs Padres .285 BA/4 HR/20 RBI’s

If a fantasy owner wants a cheaper alternative, I would go with Kiner-Falefa(Rangers-$4000)

Third Base:

Longoria(Giants) $3600 vs Rangers .279 BA/4 HR/14 RBI’s

Devers(Red Sox) $5200 @ Orioles averaging 10.0 FPTS/game for the season.

Outfield:

Garcia(Rangers) $3200 @ Giants .297 BA/9 HR/26 RBI’s(just like Devers, averaging ten plus fantasy points/game)

Verdugo(Red Sox) $4100 @ Orioles .306 BA/4 HR/16 RBI’s

Winker(Reds) $4600 @ Pirates .354 BA/6 HR/17 RBI’s

Contrary to my strategy article released on May 2nd, I have come to the conclusion that shortstop has become a very vital place for high-end production, as opposed to a position to locate value.

To offset this increase in salary, additional cost cutting can be made in the outfield. For most slates, you can find several productive outfielders whose salary ranges from $3000-$4500.

In terms of stacks, I will be leaning heavily on the Reds, Red Sox and Rangers. Although the Rangers face one of the more difficult pitchers(Wood), they have several reasonably priced options to fill out your lineup.
