MLB DFS FanDuel Advice: Wild Card Edition 10/4/16
Is there anything better than a little October baseball? We don’t think so! Four teams enter…only 2 will stay, so let’s take a look at Tuesday & Wednesday’s Wild Card playoff games.
Pitching
Noah Syndergaard $10,000 vs. SF
Rule of thumb tonight: Stay away from both Stroman and Tillman, as that game should be a shootout and very high scoring as two of the best offenses in the game faceoff in Toronto. It’s a toss up between Syndergaard and Bumgarner tonight, but I think the Met’s actually pull through tonight and take the W at home, which will give Noah an extra 12 points on FD. Syndergaard has faced San Fran twice in his career, and Giants’ hitters are hitting just .176 against the flame-throwing rightie. Tonight’s game will be at Citi Field, and Bumgarner’s ERA on the road is just 3.39, while 2.14 at home, I say the Met’s sneak into the playoffs, game finishes 3-2.
Hitters
Troy Tulowitzki $3,500 vs. BAL
Tulowitzki has been on ? ? ? over the past week and a half, just in time for playoffs. Tulowitzki has owned Tillman in his career as he’s 5 for 12 against him with 3 being big flies. The Blue Jays are at home tonight, and you know Rogers Centre is going to be incredibly loud. The Jays have a tremendous home field advantage tonight, it’s going to be very difficult for Tillman to focus on his pitches tonight in Toronto.

Matt Wieters $2,800 vs. TOR
I’m torn between Wieters and Posey at catcher tonight, because Posey is just $2,700 and has had success against Syndergaard’s fastball in the past, but Stroman has been a big disappointment in 2016, and it doesn’t get any easier for him as he faces the Orioles who lead the MLB in HRs this year. Stroman is considered the Blue Jays ace, yet he only has a 4.59 ERA at home. Stroman has struggled in the past against the O’s, as they have batted .309 lifetime against him. This game will be a shootout, so stack bats from both sides in this one tonight.
Ezequiel Carrera $2,700 vs. BAL
Carrera makes for the perfect punt tonight, as he will most likely be hitting lead-off for the Jays tonight at just $2,700. He will no doubt be high owned in cash games, but for good reason, he’s facing a rightie, he has stolen base upside, and has taken Tillman deep already this year. Carrera makes for an excellent play in cash games, as he ended the year on a hot streak.
