MLB FanDuel Gut Feeling 7/7
On days like this there is a ton of variety to choose from with all 30 teams in action (weather permitting). Lots of value to be had across the board. Here is the lineup I came up with for this evening’s slate of games:
Pitcher: Francisco Liriano $10,200
Liriano is a great, cheaper option at pitcher if you don’t want to spend a ton on Scherzer or Kluber. Although Liriano isn’t much cheaper that extra thousand bucks or so could go a long way if used properly. Plus Liriano is going against a Padres lineup that has struggled recently compared to Scherzer going against a decent Reds lineup and Kluber going against a hot Houston team.
Catcher: Yasmani Grandal $3,000
Besides last night’s homer Grandal has been hitting well since June 29th. Chad Billingsley has been friendly to hitters this season so Grandal could be your guy at catcher.
First Baseman: David Ortiz $3,200
Ortiz has been up and down this season but faces Dan Haren, a pitcher that is susceptible to giving up big innings. Ortiz is also 4-10 against Haren with two homers in the past five seasons.
Second Baseman: Howie Kendrick $3,000
Kendrick is a .429 lifetime batter vs Billingsley. His price point of $3,000 also makes Kendrick a good bet to have a good game tonight. Kendrick is my Ultimate Gut Call.
Third Baseman: David Freese $3,100
Freese takes a modest five game hit streak into the friendly confines of Coors Field. There’s a good bet he will make that six tonight.
Shortstop: Xander Bogaerts $2,900
Bogaerts has three multi-hit games out of his past five appearances and you can’t turn your back on that kind of production on a player who’s sub $3,000 on his price point.
Outfielder: Adam Jones $3,200
Please tell me you saw the homer Jones hit yesterday? If not you should look it up, it was a mammoth shot. Jones is batting .333 with a homer since his brief cold streak last week. Maybe he will hit another tonight at Target Field.

Outfielder: Jason Heyward $3,400
Heyward has hit safely in seven of his last nine games. I personally don’t know too much about Cubs pitcher Dallas Beeler but I have a feeling Heyward could continue to see the hits coming tonight.
Outfielder: Cameron Maybin: $2,800
Maybin has a hit in every game so far in July and only two games where he didn’t crack at least 3 FanDuel points. Brewers pitching hasn’t been overwhelming this season so Maybin could be in for another good game.
Confidence Level: 3.5 out of 5
I have average confidence about tonight. A few aces and a few lesser known pitchers tonight makes it a little tricky to find consistent hitting but I think this lineup will get the job done. Good luck everyone!
