NBA DFS FanDuel Advice: Values 1/13/16

What’s up, GF2 fans? It’s time once again for my NBA DFS FanDuel value plays. I’m  firm believer that the lower-tier value guys are what win you cash in DFS tourneys. Anyone can choose Stephen Curry or LeBron James for their lineup, but if they don’t pick the right role players then their doomed. Like always, all of my value plays will be under $6,000.

Here is my NBA DFS FanDuel value plays for 1/13/16:

Point Guards

Deron Williams, vs. Thunder ($6,000)

Williams has been one of the most unpredictable DFS players this season for Dallas. If he plays and doesn’t get injured, he’s always a super solid option at the point guard position. This season, Williams has averaged 26.15 FD points per game and gets a nice matchup against the Thunder on Wednesday night. This year, OKC has given up an average of 42.0 FD points per contest to opposing point guards.

Jose Calderon, vs. Nets ($4,400)

I’m more than likely going to spend up at the point guard position, but if you’re feeling a little bit risky Calderon could be a lower-owned sneaky play. He’ll be taking on a bad Nets squad, who allows an average of 41.8 FD points per contest to point guards this year. Going up against Sloan and Larkin just doesn’t scare me, so I’ve got a gut feeling that Jose could give you all decent value.

Shooting Guards

Kent Bazemore, vs. Hornets ($5,800)

I really like the Hawks players for this slate of games! Bazemore will be going head-to-head against a Hornets team who is mediocre at best on the defensive side of the ball. So far this year, Charlotte has allowed an average of 37.6 FD points per game to opposing shooting guards. Averaging 24.59 FD points per contest, Bazemore is an extremely viable option for Wednesday night.

Rodney Hood, vs. Blazers ($5,300)

Just a few weeks ago, Hood was easily one of my favorite overall value plays every night he took the court, but he was so bad last week. Now, his ankle injury seems to be healed and he has a fantastic matchup for this slate of games. This year, Hood has averaged 21.43 FD points per game and will be taking on a Portland defense, who gives up an average of 35.4 FD points per contest.

Small Forwards

Otto PorterOtto Porter, vs. Bucks ($6,100)

I know my value play limit is typically at $6,000, but Porter is such a great play I’m going to make an exception! Porter has been seeing a big amount of minutes lately since Bradley Beal has been injured. As long as Beal doesn’t come back for Wednesday night, Porter should without a doubt be a great play. This year, the Bucks have given up an average of 37.7 FD points per contest to opposing small forwards.

Harrison Barnes, vs. Nuggets ($4,900)

With Draymond Green potentially missing this game for some much-needed rest time, Barnes quickly becomes an amazingly cheap play for this slate. Since returning from his injury, Barnes has seen his minutes increase every game. On Wednesday night, he provided DFS owners with 21.7 FD points in Golden State’s game versus Miami. This season, Denver has allowed an average of 35.3 FD points per contest to opposing small forwards.

Power Forwards

Ryan Anderson, vs. Kings ($5,500)

Anderson doesn’t typically play as well on the road, but with Anthony Davis possibly sitting out for this game he is a very good value play. This year, he has averaged a solid 26.27 FD points per game and will be taking on a subpar Kings defense on Wednesday night. So far this season, Sacramento has given up an average of 42.3 FD points per night to power forwards.

Cody Zeller, vs. Hawks ($4,900)

Zeller has been a pleasant surprise so far this year for Hornets fans. I’ve been streaming him in my DFS lineups ever since Al Jefferson suffered his injury a few weeks ago. Over his last three games, Zeller has averaged 24.7 FD points per game for Charlotte. This season, the Hawks have allowed an average of 41.0 FD points per contest to opposing power forwards.

Centers

Amir Johnson, vs. Pacers ($4,900)

Johnson is the most consistent big man for DFS purposes on this Celtics squad. This year, he’s averaged a cool 20.27 FD points per contest and draws an ultra-favorable matchup against the Pacers. So far this season, Indiana has given up an average of 45.8 FD points per night to opposing centers.

Robin Lopez, vs. Nets ($4,500)

Lopez has been one of my favorite value plays over the last few weeks. Over his last five games, Lopez has averaged a nice 27.6 FD points per game at a super low price tag. He’ll be taking on a Nets team, who is allowing league-worst 50.6 FD points per contest to opposing centers this year. If you’re looking to fade DeMarcus Cousins at center, Lopez could be a nice alternative.
