NBA DFS FanDuel Advice: Values 1/20/16
Alright, GF2 fans, I’ve got some NBA DFS FanDuel value plays for you guys! Wednesday night’s slate is full of 11 action packed games on the schedule! Anyone out there can choose to play guys such as Russell Westbrook and DeMarcus Cousins, but the real task is choosing a solid value play to mix in with those guys. I’m here to help you decide which guys are going to bring optimum value to your DFS lineups. All of my value plays will be under $6,000.
So, here’s my NBA DFS FanDuel value plays for 1/20/16:
Point Guards
Jordan Clarkson, vs. Kings ($5,900)
Clarkson has easily been one of the most consistent options for the Lakers this season from a DFS standpoint. He’s averaged a solid 24.36 FD points per game and will be taking on a less than stellar Sacramento defense. This season, the Kings have allowed an average of 43.2 FD points per contest, so there will be plenty of wiggle room for Clarkson to stand out in this game.
Jeremy Lin, vs. Thunder ($5,300)
Something is telling me that this game is going to be a good one. Typically when you think about OKC playing a team like Charlotte, you’re expecting a blowout, but I feel different this time around. So far this year, Lin has been up and down for the Hornets, averaging a cool 21.68 FD points per game. He’ll be taking on a Thunder squad, who give up an average of 42.5 FD points per contest to opposing point guards. I’m not saying Lin is going to produce earth-shattering numbers, but he’ll be a nice complementary player to one of the bigger named guys.
Shooting Guards
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, vs. Rockets ($5,900)
James Harden is easily one of the worst perimeter defenders in the NBA today, so I love to stream guards against him. This year, Houston has been awful on defense, allowing an average of 37.0 FD points per contest to opposing shooting guards. Over his last two games, KCP has been solid, averaging 30 FD points per contest. The Rockets don’t typically blow a lot of teams out, so it should be a close game.
Kent Bazemore, vs. Blazers ($5,000)
The value plays at shooting guard are rather thin for this slate of games. I like Bazemore for Monday night because I believe he matches up well against this Portland defense. This year, the Blazers have allowed an average of 35.2 FD points per game to opposing shooting guards. This season, Bazemore has been fairly consistent for Atlanta, averaging 23.48 FD points per contest.
Small Forwards
Tobias Harris, vs. 76ers ($5,600)
Harris is going to be one of my favorite overall value plays for this entire slate, especially if Victor Oladipo misses game time once again. This year, Harris has been a nice go-to option in Orlando, contributing 26.9 FD points per night for our lineups. He’ll be facing off against a Philadelphia team, who gives up an average of 38.4 FD points per game to opposing small forwards. I plan on streaming Harris in most of my lineups on Wednesday night!
Nikola Mirotic, vs. Warriors ($4,800)

I know you never know exactly what you’re going to get from these Bulls role players, but I have a good feeling about Mirotic for Wednesday night. With Joakim Noah out with his shoulder injury, it will once again free up time for Mirotic to score us DFS points. This season, he has averaged a solid 21.35 FD points per contest and always has the ability to get hot from beyond the arc.
Power Forwards
Ersan Ilyasova, vs. Rockets ($5,800)
Ily always has the ability to put in a surprise DFS performance on any given night! Over his last three games, he has averaged a cool 32.5 FD points per night and will look to take advantage of a horrible Rockets defense. This year, Houston has allowed a league-worst 46.3 FD points per contest to opposing power forwards, making themselves a prime target to stream against for DFS purposes.
Julius Randle, vs. Kings ($5,500)
This prediction will be based on a few scenarios. First of all, you have to make sure Randle will be available since he’s being labeled as a game-time decision. Also, check the statuses of players such as Larry Nance Jr. and Brandon Bass for the Lakers as well, which could greatly factor into Randle’s playing time. So far this year, the Kings have given up an average of 41.7 FD points per contest to opposing power forwards. If Randle gets plenty of playing time, he can be a sneaky good play for your FanDuel lineups.
Centers
Kelly Olynyk, vs. Raptors ($4,800)
I’m all about rolling with the hot hand in Boston! Right now, Olynyk is one of those players who is playing at an elevated level for the Celtics. Over his last three games, he has averaged 28.1 FD points per night. He’ll be taking on a less than stellar Raptors defense, who gives up an average of 46.1 FD points per night to opposing centers. I’m most likely paying up at center for this slate, but Olynyk should be able to be a nice value option.
