NBA DFS FanDuel Advice: Values 3/9/16

What’s up, GF2 fans! It’s time once again for my NBA DFS FanDuel value plays for the Wednesday slate. On Wednesday evening, we’ll have a solid nine-game schedule to play with that is bound to have some massive DFS implications. Like always, all of my value plays will at or under $6,000, so let’s get started.

Here are my NBA DFS FanDuel value plays for 3/9/16:

Point Guards

Deron Williams, vs. Pistons ($5,600)

There aren’t a ton of great value options at point guard for this slate. I feel like Williams is a super reliable player who can easily get you guys 5x his value every night that he takes the floor. This year, he has averaged a solid 25.8 FD points per contest for Dallas and draws a favorable matchup for Wednesday night against Detroit. This year, the Pistons have been subpar against opposing point guards, giving up an average of 39.5 FD points per night to the position.

Marcus Smart, vs. Grizzlies ($4,800)

Like I said above, I’m not in love with many value options at point for this slate. Smart isn’t anywhere near as consistent as Williams is, but he could have a huge game on any given night. He’ll be squaring off against a Grizzlies squad who has been decimated by injuries lately. This year, Memphis has allowed 38.9 FD points per game to opposing point guards. This season, Smart has averaged a cool 21.9 FD points per contest for the Celtics and will have a shot to shine on Wednesday evening.

Shooting Guards

Devin Booker, vs. Knicks ($5,700)

Booker is quickly becoming one of my favorite young players to watch in the NBA today! Over his last three games, he has been stellar for Phoenix, averaging 37.1 FD points per contest during that time period. He’ll be taking on a mediocre New York defense that has allowed an average of 34.2 FD points per game to opposing shooting guards this year. If Booker can get hot from behind the arc then he will be a great value play for this slate.

J.J. Redick, vs. Thunder ($4,700)

Redick is one of those guys who kills my lineups every other time I play him, but his cheap price tag keeps me coming back for more. He’s been a solid contributor for the Clippers ever since Blake Griffin went down with his injury, averaging 21 FD points per night for the team. Over their last five games, the Thunder have been awful versus opposing small forwards, giving up an average of 41.4 FD points per outing to the position.

Small Forwards

Robert Covington, vs. Rockets ($5,700)

Covington could be in store for a massive DFS performance for this slate of games. He’ll be going head-to-head with one of the league’s worst defenses in the Rockets. Over their last five games, Houston has allowed an average of 45.7 FD points per contest to opposing small forwards. So far this season, Covington has been a nice play for DFS purposes, averaging 23 FD points per night for his owners. If both Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor miss another game, Covington’s value will only increase more.

P.J. Tucker, vs. Knicks ($4,600)

I’m not in love with Tucker for this slate but he does hold some relevant DFS value. In 9 of his last 10 games, he has played 30+ minutes for the Suns, which is always a positive sign for your lineups. He’ll be facing off against a decent Knicks defense, who has given up an average of 35.2 FD points per contest to opposing small forwards so far this season.

Power Forwards

Tobias Harris, vs. Mavericks ($5,800)

Harris was a nice value option while he was in Orlando but now that he’s in Detroit he’s almost a must-play every night. This season, he’s been ultra-consistent for the DFS community, averaging 26.8 FD points per game for the Pistons. He’ll be taking on a Dallas team that hasn’t defended well against opposing power forwards this year, giving up an average of 40.7 FD points per game to the position.

JaMychal Green, vs. Celtics ($4,600)

Take note that Green is only valuable if some of Memphis’ players sit out once again on Wednesday night. If guys such as Matt Barnes and Zach Randolph are back, Green will take a back seat once again. In his last game, Green played 37 minutes, scoring a monstrous 48 FD points for the Grizzlies. That game was proof that he does indeed have the ability to be an asset for our lineups. Over their last five games, the Celtics have been terrible against opposing power forwards, allowing an average of 45.8 FD points per contest to the position.

Centers

Robin Lopez, vs. Suns ($5,800)

I don’t typically write a value plays article without mentioning this guy. Lopez is the poster boy for most of my value articles because he’s just so darn consistent. This year, he has averaged a cool 21.9 FD points per game for the Knicks and will be facing off against a mediocre Phoenix defense. This season, the Suns have given up an average of 41.6 FD points per night to opposing centers.

Al Jefferson, vs. Pelicans ($5,400)

The big guy is finally back for the Hornets! Jefferson has been playing some solid basketball lately and will look to take advantage of this tasty matchup against the Pelicans on Wednesday night. Over their last five games, New Orleans has allowed an average of 47.5 FD points per contest to opposing centers. So far this season, Jefferson has been a nice DFS option, averaging a consistent 24.1 FD points per outing for Charlotte.
