NBA DFS FanDuel Value Plays for 10/27/16

What’s up, GF2 fans! I’m going to be covering your FanDuel slates for every Thursday night this season. For this slate, we’ll only have a four-game schedule to play, so it’ll be interesting. There aren’t a ton of steady values for this slate but I’ll highlight a few for every position for you guys.

So, here’s my NBA DFS FanDuel Value Plays for October 27th, 2016:

Point Guard

Ty Lawson, vs Spurs ($5,100)

This isn’t the best matchup for Lawson but with the lack of value plays we may have to roll him out. He’ll more than likely receive 30+ minutes on the court. I’m hoping that with his high usage rate, Lawson will be able to at least meet 4 or 5x his value. Plug him into your lineups and cross your fingers!

Tony Parker, @ Kings ($4,700)

I’ll be honest with you guys, I’m more than likely going to pay up at point guard for this slate. If I did have to choose one guy to play at a reduced price, it’d be Parker. Yes, the Spurs rotate their players out a ton but Parker’s price tag allows you to pay up for a bigger name such as Blake Griffin. He’ll see around 25 minutes on the court versus a bad Kings defense, so he’ll be a fine play.

Shooting Guard

Avery Bradley, @ Bulls ($5,600)

Bradley just may be one of my favorite value plays for the night! He’s a starter on a Celtics team that is lacking solid backup guards. With Marcus Smart already injured, Bradley will easily see 30+ minutes versus the Bulls. Luckily for him, Avery will draw a matchup against an aging Dwyane Wade, so he should be able to get to the hoop.

Allen Crabbe, vs. Clippers ($4,300)

I for one was all over Crabbe on opening night. He ended up playing 29 minutes, scoring 24.1 FD points for our lineups. In his first game, Crabbe took on a slow paced Jazz squad but for this slate, he draws a matchup against a high-octane Clippers group. I’m expecting the Blazers to spread the court with their guards, which will allow plenty of three-point opportunities for Crabbe.

Small Forward

Evan Turner, vs. Clippers ($5,500)

Turner is a little more expensive than Crabbe but offers much more rebounding upside. Turner seemed to fit in really well with his new Portland running mates and will be a value play all season long for me. In his first outing with the Blazers, Turner played 26 minutes and scored 20.5 FD points.

Jonathan Simmons, @ Kings ($4,000)

Simmons played an extremely stellar game on Tuesday night, dazzling Spurs fans. In 28 minutes, he was able to score 29.3 FD points, which was over 7x his value. For this slate, I’m expecting him to see plenty of minutes on the court because the Spurs could get up against Sacramento early. I’m hoping for another massive outing from the young Simmons on Thursday night.

Power Forward

Taj Gibson, vs Celtics ($5,300)

Gibson was coach Hoiberg’s favorite power forward option this preseason. It’s been confirmed that he’ll draw the starting gig for Chicago, so he’ll be a serviceable big man for our lineups on Thursday evening. Bobby Portis will eat into a little bit of his time but I’m not too worried. Expect a potential double-double caliber game from Taj for this slate!

Nikola Mirotic, vs. Celtics ($5,000)

Like Gibson, Mirotic will have a solid shot at prospering for this slate. He’s one of Chicago’s only three-point threats, so he’ll be in to help spread the floor. If he does indeed get hot, I expect him to be a big-time value play, so I’ll have plenty of exposure to Mirotic.

Center

Robin Lopez, vs. Celtics ($5,700)

There is only one true value play at center for this slate and it’s my man Lopez. He’s found his way on to a new team in Chicago that loves to shoot the ball. There will be plenty of opportunities for Lopez to grab some boards and what better team to face off against than the Celtics. Boston’s post players aren’t known to be major rebounders, so I’m hoping Chicago will dominate the glass on Thursday.
