NBA Fanduel Line-up Advice and Analysis for 4/14/15
It’s good to be back. Really upset I missed posting for last nights slate, I try not to miss the big slates, but unfortunately sometimes life happens. I’m returning tonight to a 3 game slate, which normally I’d take the night off, but with only a few days left in the NBA season, and the fact I’ve missed posting the last 2 nights, I’m gonna put up a full post.
Before we get into the guts of it, I have some potential good news. For those of you who play MLB daily fantasy, I think I’ve finally landed someone to do some daily write-ups for me. He writes for a couple of sites for season-long fantasy baseball, but is excited to start writing some daily fantasy MLB content. I’m hoping he’ll get some content up by this week, so be on the look out for that.
For those that missed it, check out my post from yesterday outlining what to expect from this site after the NBA season is over. I have some good things to look forward too for late spring and through the summer.
Let’s get to why you’re here.
Tonight’s Top Ten Plays
10) SF C.J. Miles $5100 Yes you read that right. It’s a 3 game slate, trying to find 10 good plays is not an easy task. His price tag would typically put him on my Dunks list, so why is he here? The first reason is his position. On Fanduel you have to play 2 small forwards, and tonight’s options are horrible. Paul George, who’s season high in minutes is 16, is your “top” small forward tonight. The second reason he makes the Top Ten is actually 48 reasons, as in the number of Fanduel Points he had in his last game. His match-up tonight will include some Paul Pierce. Expect him to be heavily owned, he is a cash game must-start at a shallow small forward spot.
9) SG Brad Beal $6400 Don’t look now, but Beal is viable again. He has scored 28 or more Fanduel Points in 7 of his last 8 games. The Wizards, I believe, are pretty much locked into the 5th spot, which leads to potential rest games. I don’t expect the Wizard to rest Beal, as he has had plenty of rest already being injured much of the year. They may, however, rest John Wall, and that will bump Beal’s value.

8) C Marcin Gortat $7400 Assuming he doesn’t take rest day, Gortat is a great mid-tier play at center. You could pay up and take Jordan, but if you’re looking for a more balanced line-up, Gortat is your guy. He has 3 straight games of 35+ Fanduel Points and should continue that trend tonight versus the Pacers.
7) PG George Hill $7600 With 6 of his last 7 games going over 30 Fanduel points, Hill easily checks in at number 7. He isn’t super flashy, but he is a safe play, he won’t hurt you with a dud. If John Wall sits, then I like him even more.
6) C DeAndre Jordan $8900 The Suns rank near the bottom in  rebounding over the last 3 weeks, and they rank near the top in terms of field goal attempts. So what does this have to do with Jordan? Tons of rebounding opportunities. He could easily have 20 rebounds tonight.
5) PG Isaiah Thomas $6800 He is rounding back into form, and has become a good source of Fanduel Points at a fair price. Combined that with his 40+ point upside, and you have the number 5 play of the night.
4) PG John Wall $9500 Assuming he doesn’t take a rest game(I could almost add this line to every player) John Wall could easily drop 50+ tonight, a feat he has done twice versus the Pacers this year. Over his last 7 games, excluding the 2 he didn’t play, Wall hasn’t had less than 35 Fanduel points, and has a high of 55. He is a safe bet to put up 40 Fanduel points tonight.
3) PF Blake Griffin $9500 This game is going to be a good stack game, and Griffin could have a huge game here. He put up 40 Fanduel points on them the last time he played them, and I expect even more from him tonight. The Clippers are fully healthy now, but they are still a very shallow team, meaning that even in a blow-out, the starters play a lot of minutes.
2) SG DeMar DeRozan $8600 With 5 straight games of 35+ Fanduel points, DeRozan has been ballin. Looking at the current standings, the Raptors still have a shot at overtaking the Bulls for the 3 seed, so don’t expect any rest days. DeRozan is safe to fire up versus the Celtics, a team he just dropped nearly 40(39.7) on a few games ago.
1) PG Chris Paul $10900 As the most expensive player on today’s board, he may be hard to fit in on a 3 game slate, but if you can find a way to do it, it’s worth every penny. I’ve said it before, but Paul could have been an MVP candidate in any other season, but the seasons that Harden and Curry have had, and to some extent Westbrook, have over-shadowed what he has done this year. In terms of offensive efficiency, the Clippers are second to only Golden State. That’s amazing considering they were with-out their top scorer for a good chunk of the season.
Dunks of the Night
- SG Avery Bradley $5400 He hasn’t been great lately, but he has shown some 40 point potential. The Raptors are a good match-up for him.
- SG Rodney Stuckey $5200 He has gotten 30+ minutes in his last 2 games. As long as he can get that many again, he can produce close to 30 Fanduel points.
- SG Lou Williams $5200 He had a huge game his last time out, but if he could only get some rebounds or assists. Â He had 29 real life points, but only 33 Fanduel points his last game.
- PF David West $5600 Again, he isn’t a world beater, but he is viable. He had 28 Fanduel points versus the Wizards the last time he played them.
Passes of the Night
- PG Kyle Lowry $7700 Just don’t trust him yet.
- SG Eric Bledsoe $7700 I never trust him.
- C Jonas Valanciunas $6100 Anytime you foul out in 10 minutes of play, you deserve to be on this list.
Punts
The punts tonight aren’t great, but I’m expecting more to open up with the news from today. For now, I’m going to just list a few guys that are potential punts, if everyone plays today.
- PG Marcus Smart $4300 You could do worse.
- SF Paul Pierce/Otto Porter $4200/#3900 Whichever one starts.
- PF Tyler Hansbrough $4600 Decent match-up.
- C Kelly Olynyk $4200 Fouls limit his upside.
That wraps it up for the day, not a very pretty slate of games, but at this point we don’t have a lot left, and I’ll take what I can get.
