NBA Fanduel Lineup Advice 3/11/15
Well, I got “Pop’ed” last night. I had Ginobli in one of my Fanduel lineups, and they decided not to play him just minutes before the game. The rest of my lineups are playing well, and actually that lineup with Ginobli is playing well too, but of course he’ll keep from cashing.
My Top Ten from yesterday was decimated with injuries with Tyreke Evans ruled out, Gordon Hayward ruled out, and Anthony Davis left in the 3rd with an injury. It’s too early to tell how some of my other calls went. I hit big time on my Rodney Stuckey call though, so after a rough night, I’ll hang my hat on that.
Nice size slate tonight. Not the 13 games it has been on Wednesday’s recently, but 10 games is pretty large in its own right. Lots of top-tier plays and value to be had, and if you plan on rostering Westbrook, prepare to pay a ransom.
Tonight’s Top Ten Plays
10) SG Giannis Antetokounmpo $7000 / SF Rudy Gay $8300 / SG Victor Oladipo $8000 I really couldn’t decide between the 3 of these guys to give one the edge over the other the other, so I’m going to put all 3 here. Alphabet has the best matchup on paper of the 3, but Gay and Oladipo have been hot lately. Go with any of the three and you should reach value with them.
9) PG Mo Williams $7400 His last game out was tough, going against a good Wizards defense. Tonight he gets a cupcake matchup with the Kings. Whether he plays the Point or the Two, it doesn’t matter. Kings bottom 6 versus the point and dead last versus the shooting guard over the last 3 weeks. Queue up 35+ for Mo Will tonight.
8) C Al Jefferson $8500 Speaking of the Kings and cupcakes, the Kings are bottom 6 in defense versus the center position. Al Jefferson, like Mo Williams, struggled versus the Wizards, he won’t struggle versus the Kings. Should be over 40 easy.

7) C Mark Gasol $7700 Gasol isn’t a flashy, high upside guy, so I wouldn’t use him in a GPP, unless you need him to just get value. He won’t put up a 50 or 60 point game, but you can pretty much pencil him in between 35-45 points. Against the last ranked defense versus the Center position over the last 3 weeks, he should be closer to the 45.
6) C DeAndre Jordan $9600 The Thunder actually play decently versus the center position on paper, but I think some of that can be attributed to opposing teams having to match their small ball lineup, and keeping their centers on the bench. Doc Rivers has shown that he won’t do that, he’ll leave Jordan in there and dare you to beat them with small ball. DeAndre is pretty much a lock for 15 rebounds and if he can just get you a few blocks and double-digit points, he’ll reach his value.
5) PF LaMarcus Aldridge $9400 To me, he is the most under-rated, least talked about star player in the game right now. He has had a couple of sub-par games lately, but I expect him to come out with a big game versus a bottom 6 team versus the power forward position. This game will be a high-scoring affair, and he’ll get his share of those points.
4) PG Steph Curry $10300 I had him as my Top Play the other night, and he stepped up with 54 Fanduel points. Why isn’t he number 1 again tonight? Two reasons, the guys above him I like better and it’s a tough matchup with Detroit, whom are number 1 overall versus the point guard over the last 3 weeks. I do think the numbers are skewed a bit because they are so terrible defensively on the front-line. He should still get you 45-50 Fanduel points.
3) PG Ricky Rubio $8200 He had a rough go of it versus the Clippers the other night, but Paul, even on one leg, is a great defender. The Suns, on the other hand, don’t believe in defense. They are bottom 4 versus the point, and nearly allow a triple double per 48 minutes. Rubio could definitely flirt with one here.
2) SG James Harden $11300 Is it me, or does it feel like Harden hasn’t played in forever? Four days in between games is unheard of, and it spells bad news for the Trailblazers. If Harden was a jump shooter, I might consider the rust factor here, but the way he plays, its hard to get rusty. Blazers are bottom 4 versus the shooting guard over the last 3 weeks. I was going to put this note in the “The Things You Should Know..”, but it’s too good not to have here. In 2 games versus the Blazers, Harden has averaged 67.5 Fanduel points!
1) PG Russell Westbrook $13300 For those Fanduel historians out there, has anybody ever been priced higher than Westbrook is now? He is the Top guy tonight, obviously, fade at your own risk. At that price tag, it’ll be hard to build a strong lineup around him, but if he gets 75 and you don’t have him you’re not going to win.
Dunks of the Night
- SG JJ Redick $5600 As long as Crawford is out, Redick will continue to be on this list until he goes over 6K. OKC is middle of the pack versus shooting guard.
- SG Tyler Johnson $4600 He didn’t do anything versus Boston the other night, but he still got 33 minutes. He is a bit risky, but as long as he is getting those minutes, he is capable of putting up points.
- SF DeMarre Carroll $5700 After his rest day, he came out versus a soft Kings team and put up good numbers in a blowout. This game could be a blowout too, but even if it’s not, he’ll get plenty of minutes.
- SF Jeff Green $5100 Green is starting to do what Memphis expected him to do when they traded for him. Scoring double digits in 4 straight games at $5100, if he gets you 25-30, you’ll take it.
- PF Nikola Mirotic $5700 He has been balling for the Bulls recently. Without him and Snell the other night, they get blown-out by the Grizzlies. Still at a great price and Philly has no answer for him.
- C Alex Len $4800 I once referred to him as a poor man’s Whiteside. He has since been a bit disappointing, but against the Wolves, he can regain his form. I expect a double double with a few blocks.
- PG Dennis Schroder $5000 Hasn’t scored under 24 Fanduel points in 5 straight games. His baseline to hit value is 23. I’ll take that.
Passes of the Night
- PG Chris Paul $10500 I really thought he should have taken the game off last time out. His 15 assists saved him from a horrible night. He will have a hard time keeping up with Westbrook tonight, and he’ll need all his energy to keep Westy under 40 points.
- PG Ty Lawson $7500 I don’t like him in an average matchup. Atlanta is a horrible one for him.
- PF Faried $6400 Bad matchup and has the tendency to come up small in bad matchups.
- PF Serge Ibaka $8200 I don’t hate him here, but I don’t love him either. He could easily go out and have a big game, for some reason I just don’t like him tonight.
Punts of the Night
- PG Ishmael Smith $4400 Looks like Caanan will play tonight, but Ish will get the start. Anytime he has been given minutes, he has produced and reached value. Not to mention he gets the Bulls, whom are well documented as the worst defense versus the point guard.
- PG Shaun Livingston $4100 Had a bad game versus the Suns, but still getting good minutes in a high-powered offense. At $4100 he is worth it.
- SF Corey Brewer $4300 Has seen his minutes go up in the last few games, and his production has as well. Not a bad matchup with the Blazers.
- SG Austin Rivers $3900 Doc has made his son relevant somehow. He had 28 and 30 over his last 2 games, and Chris Paul is still hobbled, so he could easily do it again.
Things You Should Know, But Probably Don’t
- In 2 games versus the Thunder Chris Paul has averaged 47.5 Fanduel points. If he is limited, some of those points could go to Austin Rivers.
- I’ve already said this once, but its worth mentioning again. In 2 games versus the Blazers, Harden has averaged 67.5 Fanduel points.
- In 3 games versus the Wolves, Bledsoe has only averaged 27.5 Fanduel points. The one that was post Dragic he only had 25.
- In the 2 games in which Wade suited up versus the Nets(he sat out one game), he has averaged 41 Fanduel points.
- In his only game versus Boston this year, Gasol has 41 Fanduel points.
- There are 5 games tonight with an over/under of over 200 total points, but only one of them is the spread less than 5 points, Blazers/Rockets. So what does that mean? There will be a lot of points scored, and it won’t be a blow-out. Target this game if you want to stack players.
That’s all I got for today, not a lot of interesting stats that stood out today. Been a busy day for me, I haven’t even had a chance to keep up with the news of the day.
Good luck today everyone!
