NBA Fanduel Lineup Advice 3/18/15
Hope everyone had a good night in the Fanduel world, my night still isn’t over. Most of my lineups are going to miss the cut, but I have a chance in a 100 team league if Chris Paul can give me 36 points or more. 5 game slates are so tough, I actually had a 3 team league in which me and the guy who finished 2nd behind me had exactly the same team, except for 2 players. My 2 beat his 2, but it wasn’t enough to put me in the positives for tonight. I need that 100 team league to pull through for me to keep my streak of 5 nights going.
Enough about me, how did everyone else do? Tough night to figure out with all the rumors of players resting, injuries, and just overall under performing stars.
Tonight’s slate is interesting in that the “value” that’s typically there on a large slate isn’t quite as good as it normally is. To elaborate a little more, a lot of the “value” guys have tough match-ups. A bunch of stars have tough match-ups tonight as well, so the Pass list is a little larger than normal.
Let’s dive in…
Tonight’s Top Ten Plays
10) SG DeMar DeRozan $7300 This might be his first time cracking my Top Ten, but he makes the cut tonight for a few reasons. First is his match-up. The Wolves have been better over the last 3 weeks versus the shooting guard, but are bottom 5 on the year. Two, his consistent play. He has 6 straight games scoring 30 or more(ok, his last game was 29.1, but close enough). He hasn’t been a world beater by any means, but in those 6 games he faced the Spurs, Pacers, and Hornets, all fairly good defenses.
9) PG Kyle Lowry $8500 Don’t look now, but Mr. Pass List himself has been balling recently. Three of his last 4 games he has gone over 40, two of them over 50, and one of those 50’s versus a tough Pacers defense. The Wolves are not a tough defense, quite the opposite as only the Bulls have been worse versus the point guard over the last 3 weeks.

8) PF Nerlens Noel $7500 He has been Mr. Consistency for a while now. Nine of his last 10 games have been over 30 points with a couple 40 pointers mixed in. I’ve pointed out many times, Detroit is not good versus a teams opposing bigs. Should get 35+ tonight, and could easily go over 40.
7) SG Rodney Stuckey $6300 He has had a couple down games recently, but I like him tonight even with a tough match-up. Bulls do defend the shooting guard pretty well, and I have no other reason to have Stuckey here other than a gut call. Sometimes gut calls work out, sometimes not, so play him at your own risk.
6) PG George Hill $6600 Hill has been playing well of late, and as I mentioned many times, the Bulls are awful versus the point guard. The Pacers have had 2 games off and they’ll play a team that they don’t like very much. I expect Hill to play big tonight. It’s become sort of a rule “start the point guard versus the Bulls” over the last month. Hill will be heavily owned I’m sure.
5) C Nikola Vucevic $8400 He didn’t quite have the game I was expecting from him last night, and he was one of the main reasons my lineups tanked last night. I’m not going jump ship quite yet. Dallas isn’t quite the good matchup that Houston was, but they do give up more rebounds to centers on a per 48 basis. He’ll be over 40 tonight.
4) PF Blake Griffin $9300 I was a little leery putting him in tonight’s Top Ten, since I made this list before his game had even started. The game, as I write this, is at the half and he already has 31 Fanduel points. Maybe I should move him up? Only concern here is the blow-out factor with the Kings, but Doc doesn’t do the whole “rest” players thing. Not to mention, they just don’t go very deep on the bench, so he’ll have to play big minutes.
3) PF LaMarcus Aldridge $9400 The Heat are actually pretty decent at guarding the power forward position, but they don’t see too many power forwards of Aldridge’s caliber, and haven’t seen any quality power forwards since they played Atlanta on 2/28.He could get 50 Fanduel points tonight.
2) PG Chris Paul $10200 As with Blake Griffin, you have to be worried about the blow-out factor, and the back to back game, but its hard to fade Chris Paul. Even on off nights he can still get you 15 assists. With Blake back, he won’t have to spend as much energy on scoring, which means his assists totals will go up.
1) PG Russell Westbrook $13200 I made the mistake not putting him as at least a Top 3 play last time out. He just shows no signs of slowing down. With Ibaka out for a while, he’ll have to carry even more of the load, is that even possible??
Dunks of the Night
- SF Rodney Hood $4600 Tough match-up, but so was Charlotte, and he had 34 Fanduel points.
- SF Robert Covington $5500 Hasn’t been great lately, and his minutes are down, but a good matchup, and the potential is there.
- PF Brandon Bass $5600 Another guy that hasn’t been great lately, but has good matchup and potential.
- PF Ersan Ilyasova $4700 A tough match-up if the Spurs play all their starters, I don’t expect them to all play. Even if they do, Pelicans were tough, and he put up nearly 30 on them.
- C Justin Hamilton $5600 How does 43, 30, and 31 Fanduel points sound for a guy who is $5600? That’s exactly what he has done over his last 3. Great match-up. Nets second worst versus center over the last 3 weeks.
Passes of the Night
- PG John Wall $9600 The Jazz play at a snail’s pace, Wall won’t get enough volume to reach value.
- PG Teague $7000 Hard to trust him with Atlanta being so balanced, you never know who will have a big game, and a tough match-up
- SG Alphabet $6800 Didn’t want to look up his name again, but Kawhi will be on him. No thanks.
- SF Gordon Hayward $7600 Tough match-up with Washington, nothing more.
- PF Derrick Favors $7700 see Gordon Hayward
Punts of the Night
*GPP Only Plays
- SF Justin Holiday $3900 I expect him to pick up a good portion of Klay’s minutes. Been good over the last 2 when he has been given minutes.
- SF Omri Casspi $3700 Only if Gay sits, and bump a little more if Boogie sits.
- PF Thomas Robinson $4400 Give this guy some more minutes please!
- PG Zach LaVine $4200 If Rubio sits, good matchup, you could do worse.
That wraps up tonight’s post. Hopefully I’ll have time tomorrow to put up “The Things You Should Know”.
