NBA Fantasy Basketball Week 5: Underated Player of the Week
Every week I will be releasing my “underated player of the week” for fantasy basketball owners. The goal of this weekly updated article is to inform fantasy owners of players they should add in their fantasy basketball league. My week 5 underated player of the week is Tristian Thompson.
Tristian Thompson has always been able to rebound, nobody is disputing that. I believe if Tristian Thompson is able to get some sort of offensive post game going he could be a real problem in the east. The only issue for Tristian Thompson however is, he has zero offensive post skills. Most of his points come from alley oops and put backs. Sort of a smaller, less athletic, DeAndre Jordan.
Tristian Thompson started his tear last Monday, November 5th, when the Cleveland Cavaliers took on the Orlando Magic, Thompson shot 9/12 with 19 points and 16 rebounds. A huge stat line. He would then follow his previous performance with another double-double posting 10 points 15 rebounds. Thompson and the Cavaliers would then travel to Chicago to play the Bulls and he would follow up his previous double-double with another marvelous game, shooting 10/14 grabbing 12 rebounds, and scoring 22 points. His game last night, nothing short of what we have seen all of last week, Thompson shooting 5/6 from the field grabbing a jaw dropping 21 rebounds and scoring 11 points. Thompson should be added in just about every fantasy basketball league, he is always a solid option for rebounding but, if he starts to score, he has top 10 center value in categories.
